    I suspect I have a worn fuel pump. The pump sometimes blows the 15 amp fuse. I am aware of the fuse box issues and have run a new in lline fuse bypassing the original. The fuse has not blown since, but I still have some drivability issues the may be pump related. I have no means to check fuel pressure, (unable to locate adapter fittings) Is there a spec out there for fuel pump amp draw? This pump draws 13 amps.

    What year/model/version?

    Can't say that I've come across a "spec", but 13 Amps is high compared to my experience -- which is that a new (tight) CIS fuel pump runs at steady-state 10~11 Amps and the current falls to 9~10 Amps steady-state after it has been broken in some. (And only CIS pumps run with such a high currrent because the operating pressure is so high.)

    Your profile is empty and you didn't mention a year. Early cars GT4 era, ran a 8A fuse for the fuel pump and changed to 16A in 1978. Realize the fuel pump is just an electric motor with attachments, electric motors can overcome worn bearings and worn comutator bushings at the expense of higher current. It's probably trying to tell you something.

    There have been some good threads lately about replumbing new fuel pumps. You may wish to pull up those pictures while waiting for your new pump to arrive. And about your profile, you can list your car year/type without exposing any personal information.

    I've updated my profile. The car is a 1985 308 Quattrovalvole with 65,000 miles on it.

    Where are you getting this information Paul? I have ALL carbed 308 (thru 1980 euros) use an 8A fuse for the (low pressure) fuel pump.

    I would like to actually monitor fuel pressure with a gauge. Any idea where to buy the proper fittings to check the system?

    The CIS pressure measuring "kit" usually comes with the necessary fittings (although how the fuel distributor is mounted in the vehicle can limit access to the various ports). If you state where you are located (US/Europe/etc...), perhaps other can suggest possible local sources?

    I'm in Northeastern Pennsylvania, (Pocono Mountains). I do think the fuel distributor will interfere with any adapter configuration I can imagine.

    Unfortunately (or maybe that should be "fortunately" ;)), my KE-Jet fuel distributors do have a convenient (and accessible) port that works with those adapters so haven't needed to go deeper into the subject. You might give these guys a shout:

    as they say "Many adapter sizes are available upon request for specific applications" in their 1318R product description. If you do find something, please post as other V8 K-Jet owners have indicated the same trouble with the available Bosch CIS pressure test kit.

    The stock gizmo you need is Bosch KDEP 1034 and its accessories (which is probably unobtanium), but an internet search on "KDEP" might give some other leads.
