My mechanic tells me I need to rebuild or get new fuel pumps for my Sebring series II.
It as an original car with Lucas injection.

Can anyone advice me where to get new or where to rebuild these?

    thanks,

    Kimm S, Norway.

In my opinion it is better to install a modern Bosch F. I . pump. They cost about $400 and are easy to obtain. The Lucas pump will cost much more to rebuild and still will not give you the reliability of the Bosch pump. One of the Bosch pump that will work is Bosch part#0580254953 and it should be installed with a Bosch filter # 0450905601, after the tank but before the pump. There are actually several Bosch pumps that will work. You need one that will have 110 psi at shut off The pump should be installed below the fuel tank as it does not have good suction. You can leave the existing Lucas pump and just use the pressure regulator built into the Lucas pump. If you remove the Lucas pump then you will need a pressure regulator.
If you insist on rebuilding the Lucas pump it can also be done by Kinsler Fuel injection in Troy Michigan. Phone # is 248 362 1145. Kinsler also has parts for the Lucas injection systems and injectors. I do not know of any rebuilders in Europe but I am sure there are a couple

Thanks Magnus and Eugene! It looks like I'll go for a retro fit Bosch pump. Hopefully my Sebring will soon hit the roads of Scandinavia!

    Hi Gene...

I was very interested in the info about Kinsler, especially when you mentioned they have
Fuel Injectors! I have a '64 Mistral (109-102) waiting in the wings and am slowly assembling
parts for it... I would really like to keep the FI and think it can be made to work properly...
Do you know if the injectors Kinsler has are new or re-furbished? When I looked at their
website some time ago, I didn't see anything about injectors, but perhaps I missed it...

Do you know of any additional sources for injectors??

Thanks in advance, you always provide excellent info!!

    Mike D.

Mike, I am sure the injectors Kinsler has are all reconditioned. Kinsler is very expensive. I would recommend you get three or four from MIE or Jacque and try them. Usually they just get gummed up and can be cleaned
