I want to share my experience with a leaking fuel pump. I was restoring the fuel system and had disconnected the fuel pump from the hose and pipe to the accumulator. The pump was working fine so I didn't replace it. A few months after restauration I noticed a fuel leak. It was intermittent but I tightened the pipe and later changed the washers. After that the fuel leak got worse. It was the pump itself that started to leak after loosening and tightening the banjo connection. The fuel pump has a seal at one end that goes bad with time. I dislike working with the fuel system so I hope this helps anyone from making my mistake. Cheers / Ferrari 328 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the heads-up, Martin. I guess the lesson is: properly functioning fuel pumps, like sleeping dogs, shouldn’t be disturbed. Alan N.J.
