This is what I found searching older threads combined with more recent threads Bosch original is 0 332 014 113 Bosch replacement is 0 332 019 151 12v 30A 250000 cycles Bosch new replacement 0 986 AHO 251 12v 30A 100000 cycles black 0 332 014 112 12v 30A 250000 cycles tan 0 332 019 801 12v 30A 250000 cycles (has tab) The last two are my guess after looking through the Bosch catalog. What say you all? Lester
Welcome to relay specification soup . Even the max current and # of cycles can be a bit unclear -- because it doesn't mean that switching at the max current is guaranteed for those # of cycles -- i.e., usually there's a derating of # of cycles for a higher current switched. Also, the 85-to-86 coil resistances can be different. Those last two you post look OKish to me (but some sites list Bosch 0 332 014 112 as being discontinued) Bosch 0 986 AHO 602 also seems like another possible 30-85-86-87-87 relay to use, but I've never looked into this in detail.
I can confirm that 0 986 AH0 251 relay wii: a. successfully plug in to the relay board and b. allow the car ('88 328) to start and run. Lester
I ran into this problem a few weeks back, its buried in some posts about a fuel pump. Two separate vendors sent me the AH0 251 in place of the 019 151 even though they were advertising the 019 151 for sale. Yes my car started and ran fine It died within a week but .. turned out to be something other than the relays causing trouble, so currently I'm not using the AH0 251 for the fuel pump. Not a real test. The one thing that I never could run to ground is the AH0 251 lists an inline resistor on the tech sheet, but it doesnt show up on the diagram. One of the vendors reached out to Bosch for me and never got an answer. Sure would like to know if there is a replacement that was confirmed to be a full replacement. One day I'm sure I'll need one.
So now I am looking for the relay that controls the fuel pump relay : Bosch relay 0332204101 Anyone know a working crossover ? Thanks!
This would work (Bosch 0332209151): https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-0332209151-BOS0332209151/dp/B004Z0WM98/ref=asc_df_B004Z0WM98?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80882887866345&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584482457320530&psc=1 I believe the V2323... number shown on the case is a Tyco part number -- slightly different from the Tyco number I had before (which had "X" and not "Y"), but still OK -- and the purple plastic case is more Tyco than Bosch.
Thank you sir! BTW even though both the fuel pump relay and the relay-that-controls-the-fuel-pump-relay have 5 pins they aren't the same. Also, if you replace the controlling relay with a fuel pump relay the starter begins to turn the engine over.
Yeah, don't do that! I think the V23234-A0001-X037 may have a slightly higher current capability (it allows up to 40A for 100K cycles while its case is marked 30A for 250K cycles) than the V23234-A0001-Y037 (also marked 30A), but, in this application, it's only switching a very small (<<1A) current to close the fuel pump relay so either is fine.
