    Could someone explain why the fuel pumps on my car are covered by a silver foil ? Is there heat coming from them?

    It's probably aluminized insulation. It's to shield your filters from the heat given off by the headers & cats, which in turn keeps the fuel temperature down, which in turn helps with the performance of the engine.

    Yes they are. He could only be referring to the fuel filters that are attached to the back of the fire wall. That is unless his car is running custom external fuel pumps, but I don't think that is the case. I think he just used the wrong wording.
