I have a client that complains of a strong fuel oder on hard turns. Gas cap is tightly sealed. Any ideas?

There is a recall or service update on this problem. (Sorry, can't remember which) There are some sheet metal screws in the shelf behind the seats that are too long and when screwed down went into the fuel tank. Also I have seen when a stereo shop installed some speakers onto that same shelf that they did the same thing by securing it down with screws. You can pressurize the fuel tank with about 2 to 3 lbs. of air while blocking off the evap system and you will find that leak. 355 Fuel tank ain't cheap!

Have him run a pressure test of the fuel system. He could need new fuel lines. Also have a look at the connectors on the fuel injection rails. If the connectors are over tightened it could cause the nut to break resulting in a fuel leak. He really needs to have it checked out before he drives it anymore. Other wise we are going to be seeing a "My friend's 355 got BBQ'd" thread. Hope he keeps a fire extinguisher handy juts in case.
