Fuel system need to be bled after filter,lines,injector change on 83 qv ?

    I have replaced almost everything on the fuel system, going to try and start up in a couple of days, wondering if anyone had any problems after doing all this? Thanks

    Yes it does but it will eventually bleed itself. Floor the throttle and crank it until it starts. It will sputter and stop several times but it will eventually run.

    There are ways to bleed it but I'm not going to go into it because if not done properly can cause serious trouble.
    Before starting remove the blue grounding plug at the fuel distributor/air flow housing, turn on the key to get the fuel pump running and look the entire system over for leaks. After it starts, turn it off and do it again. Start it and do it again. Do not just look for fuel, feel every fitting with your fingers and smell for gas, one at a time. It is a high pressure system and a small leak can cause a big fire.

    nope, i changed the lines, injectors, etc and removed the CIS when the engine cam out. hooked it all up, remember to replace the crush washers with new. started right up after a few cranks, the pump will prime and pressurize the system, the injectors will purge any air and it'll start fairly easily.

    Turn key to "ON" wait a few seconds, turn "OFF", repeat a few times. Check for leaks, if none found try to start it. If everything's OK it should start.

    The reason for the ON/OFF is that the fuel pump will time-out after a few seconds if the crankshaft isn't turning. It takes a little while to refill the system to operating pressure.

    The procedures above are correct. After doing the 60k major on mine it took a few cranks, start and stops, etc.. to get her going again. And absolutely check for leaks!!!! HUGE problems if you spring a leak or let one go unnoticed for very long.

    Just a little tip to add FWIW...Pay very close attention to the lines connected to the warm up regulator, and cold start injector. I have seen a number of these guys seeping fuel due to not being tight enough.
