Fuel tank filter source needed

Hi Guys,

Here is my problem. I need to find a new fuel filter for the outlet of the fuel tank on a Dino. The filter is a little hard to come by and the only one I have found is at the whopping Ferrari inflated price of $300. Yes you read that right. In an effort to save the lube for another ankle grabbing I thought I's post some photos of the filter to see if anyone knows of a cross reference or another avenue I may pursue to achieve the same result. Remember this is a debris filter that lives inside of the fuel tank so what I am after is something that works. Concours correct is not necessary here.

The last photo shows how the assembly goes together and if you can imagine it all screws into the bottom of the drivers side fuel tank.

BTW the problem with the one I currently have is that the end of the filter is somehow melted away. Given that this filter lives in fuel I have abandoned any ideas of gluing some kind of repair.

Order it from the UK - as far as I can see its under fifty quid whichever of the two it is

 

If you are looking at Eurospares they do not have it. If it is somewhere else please post a link.

This is a tricky one because even the most hard core DIY guy rarely looks at this part.

Regrettably I have already previously tried both with no luck. It seems as though this is not your average part so some creative thinking is required here.

 

You may want to look at early mercedes possibly w126 chassis,with a little
ingenuity you could probably make it work might have to add a fitting,good luck.

As often happens here Ricambi has saved the day. An old stock fuel filter hiding on the shelf saved me $200 and ticked another part off the wanted list.
