Anyone in the Orange County SoCal area using fuel in their cars higher than 91 octane? Are you seeing any performance or mileage difference? Lastly where are you obtaining this fuel?

You can get 100 octane at selected Union stations in the area, and it is possible to buy racing fuel at California Speedway and Willowsprings.

In modern cars (built within the last 20 years or so) the knock sensor can adjust to the piss water that is sold in California. It is possible to run a modern high compression engine on 87 octane... but the loss of performance is not worth the few pennies of savings.
