I just purchased a '86 328 and wanted to wrap the front (Fenders to door, full bumper, and full hood to windscreen). How does one do the front without a seam? The fender attaches to the hood and over to the other fender. Does anyone have pics? Is there a pattern? This must have been done before.

I dont think you will find a pattern for that year/model. I looked around and didnt see anything on a few different pattern databases. Without having the deminsions of the vehicle its hard to tell if a sheet of 60" film would cover from the leading edge of the fenders to the corner of the windshield. If it does then it can be done in one shot. If not then I dont know of anything larger (films) that would work.

    Hi Ahmadof,
Last year i had a bare metal repaint of my 328GTS and had a clear adhesive film applied to the front, from the headlights to the top of the lower beaver panel. including all the lights, and around to the front of th wheel arch.
The material is made by 3M and is also used for all racing car decals, body colouring/advertising etc.
They also applied a strip across the top of my trunk/ engine cover, and on the rear bumper.
It is almost impossible to detect, and will stop most stone /rock chips.
They put two layers over my fog lights.
So far after some country driving in Australia, over 15 months, not a stone chip in the front.
    Great stuff.

    Cheers,
    Ross

    Hello,

I recently had the whole front of my car done in a clear bra wrap, from the windshield forward. The whole hood is one piece. There is also no seam going from one fender over to the other fender. I also had the lower half of the car covered on the doors as well as the lower half of the rear quarterpanels.

The installer told me he didn't have a pattern to do this type of full wrap, and that he just had to do it custom. I like to do a lot of things myself, but this time I left it up to someone more experienced, and the results were wonderful. I would look for someone that has experience doing custom work, not just from precut patterns. Now I don't worry as much when I decide to drive my restored '76 308 GTB fiberglass car around.

The picture below shows the car with the front bumper off, when I was putting on the bumper shortening kit.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was a job like that? Also what type of film thickness did you use?

There is a pattern available from Roadblock by Autobahnd. I have it on my 1989 328GTS.
It covers the hood and the seem ends where the slats for the air vents end on the hood. It covers all the slats, the little pieces behind the headlamps, the tops of the headlamps, the nose section where the front hood emblem is, the front fenders upto a little before where the side markers are, the front sections above the black friberglass spoiler and part of the painted front sides above the black front spoiler , the sections behind the front and rear wheels, and there are 2 separate pieces to protect the wheel arch lips above the front wheels.

A few photos of the car with clear bra.
    Best regards,
    Dino

A technician from Autobahnd. I had seen his work previously. You have to find a dealer near you with it, or find out if they will send someone to your garage. They need a clean well lit garage with enough space to work in.
