After 1/2 hour of negotiating with him, and my g/f almost cursed him out, I begged him for no moving violations tickets, and he gave me one for no front plate.
I'll take a no front plate any day, thank god he did not see me with skinline kid doing 150/160 on the bridge.

Cool video... looks like you all had a lot of fun!

One thing that irks me however, is that the event was limited to exotics. Now, if it were PURELY for a drive, I 100% understand (and agree to a degree); but since it was for charity, I think you should have allowed anyone to participate if they were going to pay the fee. That just doesn't click in my mind, but I wasn't planning it!

It was Hovik's plan and he executed it very well. I'm happy it was exotic-only event - many ppl requested such event last year. It feels a lot better/safer knowing that all cars are capable of dealing with many drivers errors :) I've seen situations where non-exotic car caused an accident because the driver was trying to race against ferrari.

But that type of driver would probably have been filtered out because of the entry/charity fee. Being open to everyone WILLING to pay would get rid of a lot of people. It's simply MY view that if you're trying to raise money for charity, there should be no limits on who can help out. It just doesn't seem right. It's like finding an organ for a transplant, but saying "I don't like the kind of person you are" so you don't take it and allow someone else to live. There's a VERY large demographic you missed that would have helped raise much more money and still added to the group. Perhaps an "acceptance" would work where each car has to be cleared by Hovik.

Cliffsnotes: I don't think ANY charitable event should be limited to an elite group.

You're right. You would have to discuss with Hovik about the reasons for the run like that. I was there only to document it.

BTW: We had that discussion already before: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144923.

No one is ever stopping you from donating to a charity. Please do take out your pen and help those whom you can.

I really hope you are kidding. This is not a difficult concept.

Private drive= fine, be as discriminating as you want. Allow only certain cars. I think it SHOULD be that way. I don't want a piece of junk around my set of beautiful exotics.

Public Charity drive= Anyone who is willing and able to help a cause. It's not right to start something to help OTHERS, yet deprive them from due to selfish desires. That is wrong no matter how you look at it.

    What don't you understand?

If you feel so strong about it then do something, make a Charity Run and get 150-200 cars. Don't sit behind a computer criticizing people on what the did or did not do.

In a drive that was setup to bring awareness to the community because of wreckless driving, why would there be racing?

I am entitled to my opinion (as are you), and here in the great United States, my right to be able to exercise it. In my opinion, this charity run should not have been limited.

Hovik always does an excellent job organizing these events, and I enjoyed attending his last meet. This has nothing to do with any one person, only the hipocrasy in raising money for something, but NOT allowing a portion willing and able to give. That in a sense, is not being fair to those in need. THIS IS NOT A DEBATE, it is a fact.
Furthermore, adding to the hypocrasy was the fact that the charity was to educate those to not engage in wreckless driving. Give me a break... especially you, almighty FERRARIJOE. I'm done here. Good work Hovik, I will try to make it to your next meet.
