What a nice article. Thanks for that. Interestingly, the issues corrected by the HGTC model is exactly where I went when developing my 550 to my tastes. What I hated the most about the stock 550 was the suspension and chassis tuning. I'm a racer so I did the math and came up with my own suspension on custom shocks and springs developed more for the occasional trackday. I also ride around all the time on race brake pads and 2 piece rotors and my own ride height and alignment settings. I'm sure if I drove it more I'd probably go even more extreme. The car still needs to go on a diet.

In a brief moment of intoxication (true story), I bought a late generation LP640. While I still have a Prancing Horse (and soon to add another), there's something special about the Murci...especially the LP640. It's ridiculously fast and unapologetically Italian.

I almost got an Lp640 myself but hesitated last minute and the car sold. it was serendipitous as I was then able to buy my current crop of Fcars…. you know the whole one door closed another door open thing.

I still think about it though as they are absolutely lovely cars. if I only had more money in garage space…

I also are fortunate to have both. I enjoy them because they are 12 cylinders. My Vanquish S I had built with a manual gearbox so completely different to drive from the 575. The sound of 12 cylinders is real music to my ears lol.

I haven’t done a back to back comparison for some years Auraraptor. I have tracked both cars so I have tested the limits of both. With the Vanquish S being manual and the 575 being paddles the driving experience and setting the cars up for corners were totally different. Both performed well the 575 felt lighter in the steering the Vanqish floating discs going hard into right hand corners knocked so loudly I thought it was a wheel bearing. But turned out to just be adjustment of the shim washers. The back end of the 575 wanted to let go before the Vanquish S but both cars are fun to drive and both always put a smile on my face even to this day more so than my newer models lol.

640 is the perfect sweet spot for Lamborghini. It’s such a great car.
