I had that same magazine when I was a kid. I think the prize was a steering wheel or something. I didn't know any of the answers then and still don't know the answers to most of them now. Hopefully I'll get some answers now though...

An interesting question 10:this car is in Aussie.
It is Mike Hawthorn's car that he had bodied with, probably, the most horrendous sheet-metal EVER found on a Ferrari.
It's a 212,if anyone is interested and now has a Barchetta body.
It is for sale at the Classic Throttle Shop,Sydney.

interesting, so the abbott-bodeid Ferrari they ask about is a 212 chassis ....is the body work you mention of the abbott still, or other bodywork now?

edit: the only thing i've been able to find online, shows indeed what appears a red 166M, saying it was built for Hawthorn (driver of Ferrari fame) by Abbott?

Ummmm,I did mention that it now carries a barchetta body, you actually answered the question yourself.
If you google Throttle shop and go into cars for sale you'll see it and an explanation.

yes ...i knew prova meant "test" , i'd seen the prova plate on some vintage lambo pics too, but didn't realize what MO stood for :)

i know the 'monza', 'MM', 'daytona', 'mexico' ...which were named after indy and lemans?

i'm tryin to recall, without cheating :D ...iirc was on the first alfas, which ferrari raced under the scuderia company he formed (before he could legally form ferrari)
...i can't recall which american car they refer to, perhaps the first ferrari at indy?
wasn't the 375 the fisrt winning F1 car for ferrari, and later used as the first car ferrari ran at the indy 500?

bingo! (i had to google it :) )

i think you're right, same shape to the side inset scallop design :)

edit: what i meant is, that i can only find online images of it with that barchetta body work you mentioned, but not able to see the "horrendous" abbott body work?

I think someone on Aussie Fchat put it up,I'll have a look through some of my books.
I may have found it by googling as well.

You answered the Indy designation. As far as Le Mans, I was thinking of the 250LM
    .

I thought the 500 was a reference to 500cc cylinder size. Isn't the 5th race the Tour de France as in 250TDF?

My answer was to the question which said name the races, not name the carx, so I named the race called Indy 500. The car nicknamed the 375 Indianapolis was entered (dnfs and dnqs every attempt.) And yes, 375 relates to displacement I believe. (Reference: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/summary/Ferraris.Overview.Formula.xx.59.htm )

Never revealed before: Ferrari is my surname; Enzo was by grandfather's second cousin.

I was a teen when that came out and was obsessed by anything Ferrari. So I know most of the answers.

I'm baffled by #3. If they mean the Arni XI boat, it's displacement was smaller than the Lambredi V-12s for the 500 Superfast and 410 Superamerica.

    Never heard #15!

    Thanks for posting!

This is why I was such a poor student; I mis-read the question.

Neat! There was a time when I devoured all that knowledge too... when I had lots of "free time" in college when I should have been studying. One of the results was this article I wrote about the Arno XI and I've never passed up an opportunity to repost it, and so since you mentioned it...: http://www.ferrarichat.com/velostrada/issues/200509/Mulvey_ArnoXI.htm

It seems I still need to write part ii.
