For those of you who have come by shop or have had work done by us in nearly the last 2 years Matt was wrongly killed by Cobb Police last week while leaving a friends shop where he was helping him out. There is a fund raiser after C&O to help the family with funeral expenses. I will miss Matt greatly but want to make sure he is remembered for how good a craftsmen he was and his outstanding metal work ability. We will not get involved in the politics right now as we still wait for Cobb County to release their official report...

Dude this is NUTS!!! Sorry to hear about this. Sounds like Cobb county has a lot of explaining to do. Unfortunatley cops scare the crap out of me nowadays. They are so quick to draw a weapon on folks. This sounds like a senseless mistake and the shooting cop will lose him job for sure.

is it just me or has marietta/cobb county really gone down? i remember being at Brumos Porsche in about 1988 on Cobb Pkwy. seemed like a nice upscale area at the time. back through there last summer. Brumos replaced by a Kia store. seems like a real ****hole.

Not so sure the cop will lose his job over this. I read the news reports and it sort of looks like he over reacted. Used deadly force when not needed. Cop said he saw the him going for a gun. Easy to say. I don't trust fellow police officers to do an impartial investigation. Their thumb is on the scale.

Police officers have an important job to do. But frankly, I don't want them around me. In my opinion, too many have a cowboy attitude that leads to bad things happening.

Oh, and the fact that they have been turned into tax collectors on the highway with their radar/laser does not help their reputation.

5 point blank shots......and then turned to point at fellow officer and another? If this is all true, I would say they need to remove this officer asap.

Regardless, sorry to hear such a tragedy.

If they have not already done so, the family needs to hire an attorney ASAP.
