There are some damn funny people on this forum and generous but for my money it comes down to : funny - goober, PP and special mention Ash generous - 360C, Scud I'm sure others on here are just as generous but this is from my what I have seen and read goober and PP brighten the day and 360C enlightens with his wealth of knowledge , actually he blows me away with what he knows , just amazing recall
if we widen the net to overseas posters then sfumato cracks me up with some of the stuff he posts.it is vintage material rock on
Funny - if I could actually understand what goober was on about half the time it would be him. Generous - umm, well alot of you are generous with information/advice on here. However after Alice Springs I would have to say scud for letting me drive the CS, and also mhh for giving up his seat. Of course all the others who attended with their cars should get a mention - nking, gekko, Les, Chris, MOTOR boys.
I find that nearly all people who are passionate/enthusiasts about their cars are more than willing to share the experience with people who share the passion but perhaps not the garage toys. Bec and I would always open our cars for people to have a seat, take photos, and soak in some Red Mist. The only ones who aren't are often people that claim to be enthusiasts, know very little except what they've read in a magazine, and are more concerned about their cars $ value and who's looking at them.
just like we were back in The Steamworks hey John ?? it was just that I was feeling with the arseholes that came on here lately the air was getting thick with animosity and got to thinking that there are some really funny and generous people here and I have my thoughts on who some are and wanted to see if anyone else had nominations. As for PP, we all know he took a few of the lads on this forum for a spin in the 355CH around Winton and has a secret love affair going with Vmax Goobs is the greatest mangler of the English language, ya gotta luv him, even when all he does is count the RIVETS on bridges Special mention should go to AHG as he is a true gentleman always displaying huge modesty ..... GET WELL AHG!!!
you take things too seriously. I DID take some people around the track in my 355...but I was slow and didn't rev past 6k to conserve fuel. Also, they paid me, so that doesn't count. What goes on between Vmax and me is private business!
true, I'm an idiot .....sorry, rhetorical reply tight bastard, unless it was a flat rate and not "by the km" as usual <cough>
It would not be appropriate of me to make any comments about the love affair, however, as one of the lads who had a ride in PP's 355CH at Winton, for that experience I will be eternally greatful to PP. He was my first! You're the man! AHG is one of the kindest, most decent people I've EVER met, an absolute gentleman, as many others have stated previously. He has called me a true enthusiast; HE is a true enthusiast! 360C, from what I've been able to gather in person and on the forums, has encyclopaedic (sp?) knowledge; he's probably forgotten more than I'll ever know! The generosity and kindness he has shown me will also not be forgotten too soon! FF has answered a number of silly questions I've had and has also been gracious and generous in sharing his knowledge with me. I hope to meet a few other F-Chatters down the track; I'm sure I'll have nice things to say about you guys as well! I'm pretty partial to being told how wonderful I am as well, so feel free if anyone has anything to say! As for those on the Australian forum, the mainstays are all a bunch of great people, always there with an answer when a sensible question is asked. Let's endeavour to keep some of the riff-raff out. Geez, I'm ashamed in retrospect now that I've typed this; I'm getting all mushy and sentimental, and I HATE that!
It's not a bloody secret if you tell everyone about it! You're just jealous that you missed the Winton love-in
you're right, I'm kicking myself about missing out on a ride in the Michy how many people get a ride in a true Ferrari racing car with the history that car has ?? ...and the love affair wasn't a secret to the yahoo boyz
I went out with her "udder" sister and trust me, I'd vote you as the weirdest did you try to PM me when my 'box was full ?
Wierdest: Goober Most gentlemanly (and incidentally, often quickest on the track) and also very generous in giving free business advise and letting his nephew drive: AHG Funniest: Ash (all time favourite is still the 'Moretti 355') Best pics: Dingo (thanks!) Helpful: Ferrarifixer Most envied: F40LM!(I think I've missed a couple of letters there, but you know who I mean) Special mention should go to PP for 'most likely to offend / start an argument / restart a feud' etc
