I mentioned that later. If I wanted impressive straight line or track performance, a 20 year old Ferrari is the last thing I would buy. Hell, I'm pretty sure a C5 Z06 pulls a faster Nordschleife time than a 360. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
It might be close. Corvette benchmarked the c6 platform heavily on the 360. the new base car is usually as fast or faster than the predecessor.
Mine got called the vinwiki special at the show I was at yesterday. Ouch. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Elkhart Lake. I suppose I kind of had it coming entering such a ritzy show. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Gonna be a lot of us vinwiki specials there next year for the FCA Annual! Can’t wait. Unusual in your earlier post about the dude that disparaged your 360. Goes to show there are indeed *******s in every community.
Nah, you didn’t have it coming. I would have been there to support you my man, but we had my sons 2nd birthday party that day so obviously couldn’t. Looking forward to the next one, though.
Awesome. Next time we will be there and challenge them in hand to hand combat. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Just remembered a funny story from last summer. We were doing a group drive (my 458 Italia, others were a F430 Spider, F12 and a C8 Corvette). Having dinner in Courtney, BC and the server approached me later in the meal. She explained that her Grandmother was a huge NASCAR fan and that a group at another table were convinced as to who I was. So, she reluctantly asked if I was Dale Earnhardt!! I told her no of course, and I don't even have a moustache!! Funny thing is this summer I completed my introductory race driver training course (bucket list thing). Drove my 328 GTS. Yes, targa roof off. Yes, wore an Aloha shirt. Am eligible for CACC, ICSCC and SCCA as well for my Novice Racing License. The Chief Instructor suggested my driver's nickname be "Magnum". But now am thinking "Dale" on one side and "Magnum" on the other. The challenge is which one to put on the right and which one on the left. Let me know your opinion. By the way, I will be 66 next month. Planning on track days and vintage racing.
Awesome. I turn 66 in December. Going to get a Ford Bronco Sasquatch seven-speed manual. Then I'll have a rock crawler and a desert racer in addition to the 360 Modena manual. Wish I could afford a Ford GT.
One of the driving instructors for my course does desert off roading. He has done the Baja 500 and Baja 1000. Told me how loose the suspension has to be to take those hits. Crazy!!
I have only ever received positive and complimentary comments with regards to my 328, everybody just loves it, its that simple... G
Wish you could, they are amazing (the '05-'06 generation). Then again, I've never owned a Ferrari, so we all have unfulfilled wishes.
As recently as early 2020, there were higher mileage cars with minor stories (not major wrecks or anything) available for sub-$200k. Mine was well below that figure. Driver grade car, 28k miles, a couple of minor stories I could live with…..and like $40k worth of great mods that turned the dial to 11. Didn't want a car I felt guilty or nervous about driving. Too many of these are garage ornaments…..and yes they are one the best looking cars of all time, but the driving experience is really the special part.
Make it happen, it really is the apex of the analog supercar. And still relatively affordable for what you get. I know of one that just came on market with a $375k ask. Long term owner, 14k miles, great list of mods.
Pulling top to gated community with my red F430 a few years ago the guard said " wow that's a nice Porsche"
I've got a buddy with a really nice 356 porsche that i occasionally will run into at car gatherings in my F355. The running joke is when approaching the other pretending like we don't know each other one of us will toss the comment ... "Nice Kit Car". Gets the best looks if one of us is in conversation with someone else. I'm tempted to throw a Fiero license plate frame on just to see what happens.
I posted this in the 612/599 forum, but it fits for here too - I once pulled up to the bag drop and the attendant came to my driver's window and said, "I know you don't have a set of clubs in there." I replied, "You're right, I have TWO sets in there!" I wonder what he will say tomorrow.
A random person in a parking lot said about my GTC4Lusso, "There's a car seat in there? That can't be a real Ferrari."
Once at a Starbucks drive up window in the 355, the guy taking my order asked if it was a Porsche. Probably not as uncommon a question as I’d think it should be, I guess.
Anyone who says Porsche or Corvette in relation to or in reference to a Ferrari should do some jail time. I think 40-60 days is the right sentence. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
