Funniest/Stupidest comments you have received about your Ferrari

Nicely played.

 

Some new ones today.

Guy pulls up next to me and says: I will trade you.
My response: I already have one of those.
The new part...he says: Ill throw in the grandkids!

Pulled into the restaurant parking lot: did you leave your good car at home?
My response: we don't have a good car.

 

Some kids in a very lowered Lexus SC300 that had been following me for several miles pulled up next to me:

Them: "So how much did that cost you?"

Me: "A lot."

Them: "A lot?"

Me: "Yes. And it was well worth it!"

Then I downshifted and floored it and they heard that Capristo Level 3 bark loudly on downshift and then wail into the distance as I drove off.

I am too old to be having so much fun. I think.

 

A guy from down the street came over as I was getting out of my Audi and said, " one fast car want enough?" I said no. Then he said, is it yours?" I replied, " the Ferrari, yes." He asked, " why did you buy a Ferrari?" I replied, " because I've always wanted one." He stood there looking at me like I had six heads.

 

Either you get it or you don't.

 

I guy sees me getting into my car and says, " My girlfreind lives in a bad neighborhood and when I pick her up in my Jag I always get stopped. If I had a Ferrari they would stop me 30 times and I wouldn't care, because I'm in a Ferrari."

That may have been my favorite so far.

Funny stuff. But yes, you can drive them safely in Oakland, CA. Been doing it for 10 years with no hassle - including parking them at restaurants and stores. When I had my nero 360 I though about buying a spare hood and having the Raiders logo painted on it. Figured if I did that I could park safely just about anywhere! And I see other ones in Oakland with some regularity.

 

I had a guy come over to complement the 328 while I was filling it up.

Then, when I got done ... it wouldn't start.
Karma is a beotch.

But I was thinking:
I've had this car for almost 16 years, and in that time, most of my problems have been electrical.
So -- given the number of battery problems I've had on cars ....
... why would people want battery powered electric cars?


I was trying to explain, a while back:
Plants convert sunlight, CO2, and water to carbohydrates and release O2
Carbohydrates plus water degrade to hydrocarbons.
Internal combustion converts O2 and the hydrocarbon octane to water, CO2 and transportation.
So, looking at the entire cycle, my car is solar powered.

 

I drove my 458 to Austin couple months ago and some 8 year old said "nice mustang" lol

 

When I was living in a townhouse community, there was a guy with a Vette that would always drive slowly past my house, especially if I was in the driveway, cleaning the 308. He would never say anything. He would just rev his engine and look over.

One particular day I was in the driveway, cleaning the car and chatting with one of the neighbors. I heard him start his car and he was headed towards my part of the neighborhood. I told the neighbor this guy's M.O. and told him to watch what he does.

Sure enough he comes crawling down the street and stops in front of the driveway and just stares. It was a bit awkward and uncomfortable with this guy just stopped and staring. So, I looked over, said hi and told him that he had a nice car. He then tells me to, "Keep watering that thing and one day it'll grow up to be a Vette". With that he revved the engine and lit up his tires. However, when he launched the car, he lost control and wiped out the driver's side suspension on the median. He never stopped. He just limped the car home, dragging bits and pieces. We could hear the thing all the way through the neighborhood, until he got home. He never went past my house again!

I think my buddy and I laughed for years over that.

I don't think I would ever stop recalling and laughing if something that ridiculous happened to me.

Which is a handy head start, given that he would need many tools to fix his busted up Corvette.

Ouch, that's embarrassing! I love the guys who shout insults from the sidewalk as you drive by, or do the universal 'wanker' hand signal or flip the bird, but don't think that it's unlikely the owner of the Ferrari is the loser in a comparison with a guy that cant actually afford a car

It's very common in the UK, especially directed at drivers of flash cars like Ferraris, or at BMW drivers as the common perception of them is that they drive too aggressively, lots of jealous people in the UK, at a quick look, you'd think it was a socialist state!

You can adapt the hand gesture to mean 'dick' head by making the same hand movement, but centred in the middle of your forehead!

God, feel like a teacher today!

 

As many times as I've heard wanker on UK movies and TV I've never seen the gesture.

 

Drive a Ferrari in the UK, u will see it soon enough, usually from a hooded knuckle dragger walking on the sidewalk!
