Evidently gen y is gone, as is 'gen z'. As a Gen Xer, I say 'meh.' Sent from my Moto Z2 Play using Tapatalk
Yeah I was born in '84. There's also an argument that those of us born prior to about 88-90 are a sub-generation. Either called Xennials or the Oregon Trail Generation (because we grew up playing games like that on green screen computers at school). We actually remember a time before the internet got popular, didn't always have cell phones, and share a little more culturally with GenX than later Millennials who have always had the internet and other tech. I consider myself part of that subset.
^I fear that for many old timers that Millennial has become a catch-all pejorative term for callow youths. What our grandparents might have called whippersnappers! T
Early the 2000s, a friend (who is a used car dealer) almost went ballistic when he heard I purchased a 308, "Are you crazy? That's a $100,000 car!"
I was driving my 430 Spider a few weeks ago with the top down. Stopped at a light and the lady next to me rolled down her window and said "is that a Lamborghini?". I told her it was a Ferrari and she said "oh...it's beautiful anyway". I just smiled and drove away as soon as the light changed.
Yep same here. Oregon Trail FTW and I used the card catalog at the library to find my way around...no internet until really end of elementary.
It is true! We are part of a sub generation that is nowhere near the millennial generation. (I’m a 1982 model lol!) I see a lot of people my age with a strong work ethic that I don’t see with millennials. I can’t stand the thought of being thrown into that category of spoiled entitled children that are now adult children. I mean, sorry to say but the proof is the very forum we are having this discussion on. For example, my cousin is 22 years old, sells coffee and doesn’t have a drivers license. I’m pretty sure they won’t be discussing anything Ferrari in the near future. But I do hope something turns around for them and would love for them to have the ability to “discuss Ferrari” but it all starts with hard work. I started with my company when I was 16 years old and am now going to purchase the company next year at 37 years old. So 22 is a start but success is a long ways away. But hey, at least they started. A couple of days ago I had a great driving day with the 360 on the Alps. For lunch I stopped in a small restaurant in an even smaller village, parking my car just in front of the main entrance. The restaurant owner immediately went out to check my car... and after a couple of minutes asked how many visits did I already have from the local equivalent of the IRS....
On the first day I got my 360 some kids were walking by my house as they just got off the school bus. Their father stopped to check out my car and the little girl saw the horse on the back and said "oh it's a unicorn car" . Then later that evening the neighbour from across the street came over , saw the horse on the back and said "it's not a Ferrari, look it's a Mustang". She was serious
And, how good looking was she? I wouldn't stress. I had someone ask me if my Cali was a Volkswagen. T
She isn't good looking and is one of those who thinks Hondas are the best even after they sink thousands into repairs. But now they have an Acura that think is an Alfa Romeo Sent from my BBA100-1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
But - I thought they were all red? Mine are. Um, am I missing something here?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
