This was a really funny exchange b/w the commentators on the Star Sports broadcast apropos of Ralfie. Thought I should share this with you. :D

This exchange took place just after RS couldn't make a pass on Liuzzi in the TR for position stick. RS was brought into the pits immediately after.

Steve Slater (SS) : "Well, his pit crew decided that poor Ralf Schumacher couldn't overtake the little old lady in the middle lane and decided to bring him in."

Chris Goodwin (CG) : "Haha, a little bit harsh, don't you think?"

SS : "Maybe, but one fault with RS as a racing driver is that it seems he's never really had to do any overtaking. Ever!"

CG : "Wow, that's harsh, considering that RS is a previous winner of the German GP..."

SS : "Which he won from pole! No overtaking there either!!"

    (both fall over laughing).

Just thought I'd add some merriment to the RS haters here. :D

I personally hate all these commentators/journalists and armchair critics that focuss on making funs of racing drivers without knowing what they talk about. Most of them haven't even entered a club race, but will abuse their position to publicly broadcast or write sarcastic comments about some racing drivers.
No wonder why some of the media is shunned by racers.
I remember an incident many years ago, when Jean-Pierre Jarier (who drove for Shadow, Lotus, ATS, Ligier, etc...) was constantly criticised and humiliated by a couple of TV commentators for his lacklustre performance on a Ligier. GP after GP, they kept picking on him.
Comes the French GP at Paul Ricard, on the morning of practice, J-P Jarier spot them at the hotel, waiting for a lift/taxi to the Paul Ricard circuit. he offered to take them in his Mercedes 300SEL, since he has a pass, etc... At first, they were embarrassed and tried to refuse, but Jarier insisted; they got on. Arrived at the circuit, Jarier managed to convince security to access the track, where, in spite of the protestations of his 2 passengers, he embarked in a series of laps at speed. Jarier used all his skills to hurtled the big limo on the track: late braking, powerslides, wheel spinning, etc... for about 10 minutes, driving lap after lap as if there was no tomorrow, while all the mechanics and journos in the pits paused to watch in dismay, not knowing what was going on. When Jarier stopped, the rear passenger had been sick, and the front one had peed in his trousers. They never made fun at him AGAIN!

True what you say about some commentators being uneccesarily harsh. Actually , in this case though, chris goodwin is (or was) a professional racing driver, so he probably knows how difficult it is. Thats probably why he was calling slater's comments as harsh. Slater is usually always the one to poke fun at drivers skills. I remember at Canada, he was suggesting that Massa should be driving in the WTCC next year because that was closer to his talent level.

Considering RS practically t-boned two drivers this weekend trying to dive underneath them I think the comment is valid. Montoya had more business staying in F1 than RS does.
