What are those things that stick above the rear view that look like ear plugs attacked to the inside of the windshield frame above the mirror? lol. 1990 348ts.

Those rubber things that fail to do what they were designed to do, are supposed to hold your across-body belt above the seat. Too bad they're not available in metal. Anybody selling 'em.

OMG, I would have never guessed that? It can hold both of them? How silly. And with the auto seatbelt, (which I still need to deactivate on the driver side) wouldn't you must leave it hooked up there? I don't get it.

The intent, I believe, is that when you go to exit the vehicle and the auto-belt has retracted forward, you lift the across-body belt up and secure behind the black rubber peg. Thereby easing egress and later ingress. On reentering, when seated lift the strap off the peg. Unfortunately, at least in my case, the rubber flexes and defeats the intended purpose. Some of that Italian design just ain't what it oughta be.

You are exactly right! I believe it is illustrated in the owner's manual. You'd think someone would have figured out a better mod. My Spider's version seemed to work better, but after a few years of use, they stopped holding the belts.

If they weren't integrated with the visor mounts in the Spider, I'd have unscrewed mine and put them in storage already.

Imagine they'd make great sunglass holders while parked!
