My cat plays fetch, opens every closet in my condo while I'm sleeping - every night, and jumps from the ground to perch on my shoulders for hours on end when he decides I'm not paying enough attention to him.

    I have two kitties.

Joe, my girl calls him Catzilla (he’s only kind of fat), will open the cabinet doors where his food is. I would come home to a cat lying on his side asleep with cat food all over the place. I have since then installed those childproof clip things. He also likes to open the closet door and sleep in the dirty cloths basket.

Luke, catzilla’s ferocious brother, will bring me the “good parts” of everything he kills. On a good day I will be treated to a bird beak and a rat tail. He loves to go behind Joe close the closet door on him and wait for his paws to come out from under the door where he attacks them. If you don’t give him enough attention when you’re sitting on the couch he will get a running start and head butt you. It actually hurts.

I have also taught them how to use the potty. Still working on the flushing part.

Had a cat that every time he came into the bedroom I would snap in a sharp voice "get up on the bed" and he woiuld jump right up. Not to long ago my wife was watching TV when the subject matter turned a little raw for my 10 YO, so I said Alex go to your room. Alex being like most 10 YOs ignored me so I repeated myself and said in a little bit more forcful tone, "go to your room". For the second time my request went in one of his ears and right out the other. This is why I always say my son isnt set on repeat but on threepeat. So now I'm getting a little pissed so I snap and yell "WHAT DID I TELL YOU GET OUT OF HERE NOW"!!!!!! Right on the word NOW my cat (Who by the way was 13 YO) jumps off the bed and takes off like a jet. I look at my wife and laugh and say he not only understands get up on the be but get out also. Damn cat moved faster than I have seen him move in 5 years. Sadly just last night Iwe had to have him put down. Cried like a baby. Boy I'm sure gonna miss Tabasco.:(

2 Italian Greyhounds and 2 cats... life is not dull at home.
This is Stella, our boy cat, sleeping in one of the many spots he's found around the house.
I'll post a photo of Miura if I can get a good one... she believes *everyone* is an axe murderer out to get her and spends 16 hours of the day living under our bed. At night she'll sleep between my arm and chest and she'll vanish before dawn again :) thats my baby girl!

Infact the more I think about it, mostly my little guys (and gal) have weird sleeping abilities... as in anywhere!
Here's a pic of Stella curled up in a USPS box full of CDs...

The others are a pic of my first cat Jarama, chillin by the back door in one of my first apartments in Socal several years back, and a picture of one of our Iggies (Italian Greyhounds) Hazen, who is always burrowing into our mutual favorite blanket! And of course one of them piling on dad which they do every time I try to sit down and play 360.

My fake black lab loves being vacuumed. He will stand right there waiting for you to vacuum his back ...
If he's hungry or thirsty he will wait in the kitchen and gently tap his water or food bowl as soon as someone's there to see.
We can't hear our cat from inside, but he can. Every time the cat is at the door to come in, the dog will go to the door, tap on it ... and go back to his pillow when the cat is inside.
He's not allowed upstairs ... but at night he will sneak up and sleep against a bedroom door ... and go back down quietly when an alarm goes off in the morning. At one point we allowed him up ... but he was just making too much noise, walking around, scratching blah blah. Thinking it's forbidden, he's as discrete as it gets, and everyone's happy.
He also has his own "bed" (which is just a big piece of memory foam) and a little pillow he likes to toss around. Sometimes he will go and grab the pillow and put it down carefully ... and sleep on it. a tiniy 10"x10" pillow, for a 120lbs dog.
He also acts very surprised when you can sneak a toy from him. Total shock.

The cat is sneaky, we both like the same place on the same couch. When he sees me coming towards the couch, he will run and sit on his spot ... and look at me with that "that's mine, go away now" look.

Golden retriever, Lisa, loves to get in the water.

She rings a bell when she needs to go outside(and more importantly, doesn't abuse it).
She can high-5, high-10, speak, play dead(point at her and say BANG! and she drops over)etc. What i think is the best is she knows the difference between all of her toys and all of the people in our life. Say "get Randy!" and she'll go to him, wherever he is, and it goes with almost everyone who has spent any time with her. Sometimes though she can be a little too smart for her own good...

Goldens are fabulous dogs. My family had one.
I grew up with blacks and yellows. My last black Lab would do anything I asked him to, including jumping off a boathouse roof after a tennis ball, a 12' drop. His name was Chewie (after Chewbaca)

Lady knew how to open the doors in the National Guard armory where I worked full-time last year. They were the double doors with a brass push bar going across them. I didn't train her to do that, but I did have a signal that meant it's ok to jump up. Just for kicks, I gave her that signal one time through the window and she opened the door. One time I heard the doorbell while I was on the other side of the building. I thought OH ****! THE DOG IS GOING TO OPEN THE DOOR! Sure enough, she had. I said to the the UPS guy "You found out my terrible secret". He said "If you could teach her to sign for these, you'd have it made" :) I once locked my keys in the armory. I put her in through an open window and rang the doorbell. She saved me a really embarrassing call to the supply sergeant.

I get her a coconut bar when the ice cream truck comes by. Now she gets really excited whenever she hears it. She'll hear it before we can.

Great dog! Mine was nuts about peanut butter.
I would make him an open faced peanut spread and jam it to the roof of his mouth. He would go lay down and try to lick it down. He'd lay there for a half hour with the tongue going in and out in and out.
    Very funny.

When I was groing up, I had a German Shephard that love the water. Loved to swim, loved to play in the lawn sprinklers, loved to play with the water from the garden hose. Loved the water untill you said "bath" at which point he would star to shiver and whine. He could be soaking wet from playing with the hose but say bath and he would freak out. The other thing he would do is bo down to the entry of the development and meet the mail man at the bottom of the street. He would get in the truck and ride around the hood untill he got to my house and got out. Once in a life time dog.

Lady hid a treat from her best dog friend for 9 days. I watched my sister's chocolate lab while she was out of town. She and my lab are best friends. They played constantly. Lady just loves her, BUT she does NOT like to share her toys or her food. About 30 minutes after my sister picked up her dog, Lady walks into the living room with a ham hock and starts chowing down. I gave that to her before the other dog came over. I can only guess that she left it hidden so she wouldn't have to share it. Dogs are the the coolest. Some of the things they do...it just really makes me wonder.

Our Yellow Lab, Amber, LOVES to be vacuumed too!
She won't go in the pool unless she is floating on something. She will sleep in "her" boat while the kids push her around. She also likes to ride in our daughter, Taryn's Gator. She will chase her until she stops to let her in the back.
If you give Amber a "Greenie" bone she runs around looking for our cat, Bella, and they share it. They both also prefer drinking running water out of our bidet!
