Where is it located on the 328 and is there any trick to getting into it assuming it has a cover. My new a/c went out when I got stuck in traffic during a street parade in New Orleans.

Not at all familiar with a 328, but on a 308 it is located on the dash, on the passenger side, behind a pop-off cover with pull buttons. It's more or less where you'd expect the glove box to be on most cars.

I can't imagine that the 328 is any different, but since no one has chimed in yet on specifics for a 328, hopefully this could point you in the right direction.

    Good luck!

Did the fans die on you, or did it just stop cooling? If the fan was running, but no AC, did you check the belt? I had that happen once, AC stopped working and it turned out I'd thrown the belt. Also, if you are low on R12 (or 134 if that's your gas), the system will trip off. I believe there is also a high pressure switch as well that cuts it off. Since the car has cooled off, have you started it and checked to see if the Ac is working? Just a couple of random thoughts.

By the way, on the 328, there are fuses behind the lower part of the passenger dash panel. There are two screw knobs or screws underneath that you remove to open it up. There is also a fuse panel under a plate in the passenger footwell, under the carpet. I don't remember where the AC fuses and relays are located, but likely one or the other. You should be able to find it in the workshop manual.
