Given that Kyosho now seems to be producing all sorts of new Ferraris in 1:64 and 1:43 scales does anybody know if this will lead to new 1:18s?

For example, they've announced the 575GTC and F40 in 1:18 scale which they have been producing in 1:64 and 1:43 for a while but I have also seen the F50 GT in 1:64. Considering that they have probably had the real car in order to take the dimensions and model the thing wouldn't it be crazy for them not to re-produce it in the bigger scale?

    I'm just being hopeful really.

I hope you're right. I don't know how much it costs the to obtain a car's measurements but if they have already incurred a large portion of the cost for producing the smaller models then it would be foolish of these manufacturers not to create an F50 GT. But then again, I'm still waiting for a nice 1/18 scale F40 LM...

How unfortunate. I don't know where they got the idea to produce a Light Weight F40. Unlike the F40 LM, the Light Weight F40 is not a famous version of the car. :(

Well, this should give Mattel Elite something to think about, and it looks like I'll be shelling out $90 in Q4/2007.

Wow - wonder what the 'stage 1' and 'stage 2' Testarossas are? And yes, why the 'Lightweight F40'? give us an LM.

Anyway, I don't think I'll be shelling out for anymore 'Elite' models but how can Kyosho make these while Mattel has the license?

Even if Mattel is sub-licensing them to Kyosho surely Mattel will lose out as Kyosho are way ahead of them in terms of quality.

I just received my F430 Spider Elite. There is a little improvement in terms of paint (especially in the interior) but IMO it is not worth 3 times+ the price of the standard issue. The biggest flaw (the oversized wheels and rubberband tires)is still present.I will definitely not be buying the elite coupe version and rather wait for BBR and Kyosho with their versions. And what's up with paying $240 for "superelite" whaen it is the same s*** in different package.

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the model but I agree. I've seen the Elite F430s in the flesh and they are an improvement over the standard ones but it is the 'oversized wheels and rubberband tires' that puts me off completely. I know the BBR version is going to be 3-4 times the price but I think it's worth it.

I thought my Elite Testarossa was a nice improvement but now I know Kyosho are going to make one I feel like putting it back in its box and listing it on Ebay (along with my Elite F40)!!!!

That is because there is no "Light Weight" version.

That is just what they wanted to call it to seperate it
from their other F40 because it has different wheels
    and exhaust etc....

When it comes to trying to get people to buy (slightly different versions of) the same thing over and over again Mattel marketeers are pretty shameless.

Someone, anyone, make a nice F40 LM (CMC? Kyosho?)

Anyone know what a Stage 1 and Stage 2 Testarossa might be?

Are they talking about the original single high wing mirror and single nut wheels vs. later versions?
