You should trust what he says... he’s probably the biggest insider in the whole forum. Every time he posts anything he risks being fired. He has all my respect! He’s the man and we are lucky to have him in the forum!

That’s a very large number. How much confidence in the accuracy do you have?

I presume there are no actual published numbers?

    THX!

Classic?? No way. This car will be obsolete in 2 years.

I absolutely agree with this. No discussion that in order to keep pushing performance manufacturers must use all tools available and we should applaud that. But, in my opinion, cars past 2005, when digital screens started to take over, are going to have a tough time in the secondary market. The obsolete look just takes a lot of the appeal from them, not withstanding the issues they create. Most late 90’s cars look newer inside today than 2005-2010 cars with old screens. In short, I believe analog will command a premium in a high tech future, as three pedals already command a premium over the highly efficient automatics.

6000 Pista is astonishing. Even more astonishing, I wanted an allocation and could not secure one. I wonder how many are stateside.

If we are predicting then I would predict most new owners would say its an instant classic. Should not compare a production car to a hypercar. There is no return on this car other than the pride of ownership and the bliss of driving. Pretty much 99% of all modern Ferraris. This one less because of the primary battery and steep MSRP.

IMO- A classic set up for a future classic is an incorrectly maligned car that sells in small numbers and is later appreciated for its significance. So far so good...

The vote count is three to one against...

The main draw on this car is its performance but in a few years the full electric will greatly exceed the hybrids. Best to enjoy the heck out of it as a new owner. Who cars about being a classic so far into the future.

Maybe. And a literally outstanding misunderstood car is a classic set up. People like to contemplate the future- especially when it comes to items that are collected. I will drive mine- as I always have.

Funny thing, when Ferrari goes all electric these will be the last of the breed that offered sound with most of their power from an ICE. This car marks the beginning of a new era in production cars for Ferrari- and it is a cutting edge leader.

This whole thread is confusing to me. I’m 31, I have a nostalgia for 90’s sports cars, but to me they aren’t classic’s yet. So are we trying to predict the SF90s desirability and status in the year 2050 and beyond?

Grasshopper, you have just started your journey as a car guy. One rationalization you will learn is justifying a car because it will become a classic.

By the time you reach the top of the mountain, you will achieve true wisdom and realize no excuses are required. If you want it, buy it.

90's sports cars for me are how Jeremy Clarkson described a Killer Whale, "Striking to look at, but (I'd) never want to own one."
