http://www.carfrom.us/car/search/action/showDetails/uid/4ca6292372bd9/ Just wanted to post this in case a white Murci with questionable history pops up on Ebay in six months. I found out about that website last week, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how it works. Their FAQ is incomplete and the live chat has not been able to connect for me. They have very cheap bikes, someone I know bought a Ducati 1098 with ruined fairings and tank for under $3000. I don't understand under sale start what "Future Sale" means when you can bid on it already. Is it for sale, is there a reserve, when does bidding end? Very confusing. You can sort by "ASC" or "DESC". No idea what these are, perhaps DESC is description. Toward the bottom is a value, "ACV". I assume this is some sort of clean vehicle value, some also have a repaired value. If anyone knows please explain. thanks
Future Sale simply means that when all interested parties, ie. bank, finance company, insurance company or whomever has relinquished any claim on the vehicle it will be offered for sale to the highest bidder. As such the exact date for such is unknown, hence: Future Sale.
I found the auction ID number, 33750821. Search for this auction in the area at the top of the home page. A few other interesting ID auction numbers: 33742390 (another wrecked white Murci) 32864368 (repossessed Gallardo) 33737234 (wrecked California) 33685829 (flood Scag)
These are (don't know the proper name for them) redirect sites that cull listings from dealer-only sales like IAAI or Copart. Some offer bidding by proxy - you can pay them to bid on a car for a fee. Its kind of a gimmick, don't know if I'd trust these sites but the insurance auctions and the cars are real. I know IAAI has several L-cars in inventory waiting to sell, they've been there for almost a year or more!
