What a weekend! Feel really privilaged to get so close to a new-age Formula 1 car, never mind an FXX! F1 car was crazy to watch and hear going round a tight track like Knockhill, blew the lap record out the window with a 41.5 sec lap! There was also a F430 and 360 GT Race car on track with the FXX, F430 was way quicker than the FXX round the tight twisties. FXX was a bit too big to hussle round and as the driver said was too powerful! Gearing was too long to get it fully wound up but still looked and sounded amazing, managed a 48 sec lap. Big thanks to Suderia Ecosse for bringing the cars, made my weekend! Colin.
Colin - Great pictures, looked like a superb day out. I hope you don't object to me taking the liberty of posting the individual pictures up instead of links... I presume that you had a press pass or similar as your access appears to be unhindered? regards Andy Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cheers Andy! I tried to get the pics straight up but couldnt figure it out! I hate links too! Myself and a friend have a little photography website as a hobby, where we sell prints, we live near Knockhill and go most weekends. We have trackside access and nobody seemed to mind us wandering about, was fantastic to get so close! Got a bit of Italian verbal though when I was taking some close ups inside the FXX, the door got shut quicksmart! Col.
Excellent pics! There are two FXXs in the UK. The other is blue and AFAIK, the only blue one of the 29 made. I think I probably know the owner of the one at Knockhill and do know the owner of the blue one, but I don't think it fair to them to post the information on here. Sorry. Jonathan
Great pictures ! And for sure also a great day ! Does the 360GT is also in some of the pics thank you in advance . regards "360racecar lover"

Ben the Owner is well known in Ferrari circles in My local rag He said He wished to remain anonomous and that should be respected on this forum, I can tell You that He also owns the 2003 F1 car shown here, and He has a road going Enzo as well.
Colin I actually saw You taking some of the pics wish I knew it was You as would loved to have got some good pics I was in the public area to the right of the supercar paddock and the pics I got were frankly awful.
If it's who I think it is (and who I think it is is visible in one of the pictures) then he's sold his Enzo because it is currently in Romans International's showroom in Surrey. Jonathan
That is indeed My understanding, when I was at the factory in Oct 2004 this fact was rumoured and I guess it is true, makes Me wonder why He sold it as He could not have had it very long.
The owner of the FXX and F1 car was not at Knockhill. He also owns one of Alain Prosts old F1 cars, which is getting raced shortly at Monaco.
Very fair comment from both yourself and Jonathan about not releasing the name of the owner. Interesting to see he has a very nice collection but I guess that to get an FXX from Ferrari you do have to be a "special" client. There must be quite a few collectors like this in the UK that we simply don't know about and respect to them all. Good to see the owner of the F1 and FXX showing them to the public in the way they were built to be used!
Brilliant weekend, how will they top that at next year's Motorfair. Great photos, thanks for sharing. Strange how the owner wants to remain anonymous but had his name on view at Knockhill. Anyone know the Chassis number of the FXX ? The F2003 was #232.
Is Mr X the guy who featured on a well known UK Motoring programme collecting a car from the factory... in which case I cannot see why he would put a mark in the 'No Publicity' box regarding this event.
Me too! The radiator beneath looks very classy too - it appears to curve/sweep back to increase the frontal area.
No it is not Frank Mountain. Marlin, the board by the cars showed only His name as if He had driven it did not say owned by I know its a bit strange He wishes to remain anonomous the only reason I can think of is that though He is well known in Ferrari circles he perhaps does not wish to be known outwith. He is indeed a very special Client of Ferrari.
So he is well known among Ferrari fans but wishes to remain anonymous to the outside world, potential car thieves, blackmailers etc etc. Seems reasonable to me. So his name was listed as a driver of the car as in he had raced it at some point or was driving it on the day at Knockhill?? I am a little confused!
His name was listed on a board with the car details in front of it whilst in the garage,as I said previous I do not know why He does not want His name known(and He may not) I am only going by what it said in My local rag(The Dundee Courier of Monday past)
Ah, I think I know who you're on about, I do respect that some don't want the world to know, as someone else put thieves etc...
