This was just a media BS. If you wanted, you could have kept it at your house. Most owners decied to leave it at the Factory as it was more convenient since the Factory was organizing the events, shipping the cars and also doing maintenance and updates. But some owners never really participated in the FXX events and just bought the car as a track toy and kept them home. I believe Benny was such an owner.
I thought the FXX programme was over.. maybe not? According to the article, the next FXX event is in May 2011. The owner added the EVO kit to his FXX, ($300,000) Ain't that the cherry on top of your chocolate pudding !
And here is a third (real) car offered: http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/showDetails.html?id=141587700&__lp=120&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&sortOption.sortOrder=DESCENDING&makeModelVariant1.makeId=8600&makeModelVariant1.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant2.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant3.searchInFreetext=false&vehicleCategory=Car&segment=Car&siteId=GERMANY&negativeFeatures=EXPORT&damageUnrepaired=NO_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&export=NO_EXPORT&customerIdsAsString=&lang=de&pageNumber=1
But this one is in the UK albeit quite well known here http://www.dealer.ferrari.com/carrs/used/FERRARI/Enzo/Exeter/15882800
what would you guys choose between the FXX and a 2002 Ferrari F1 car http://www.euro-classics.com/ferf1-2002-219.htm both similar pricing....both can only be driven on a track etc... i know its just a hypothetical example, but i reckon could be a good discussion...
From a purely operational and spare parts standpoint, the F1 car will eat you alive. And, you'll need HUGE support. FXX would be no slouch in either of these departments, either, but not in the same league. CW
Neither. If you want a great track car I suggest a 430 GT2. You can get a good one with tons of spares for about 350K. It's bullet proof, fast and safe.
As an aside an FXX would make a terrible road car. It has way to much front overhang for it's normal ground clearance.
James, do you know of a good one for sale? We have been looking at 430C, 360 GT but a 430 GT would be a good idea as well..
I have a great one that we used to engineer P 4/5 Competizione. We basically bought Team Italia and all of her spares. At some point we'll sell off a complete GT2 and ton's of spares. Best
The next XX event was yesterday and the day before in Abu Dhabi and was absolutely fantastic. The XX programmes continue throughout the year with events at Mugello, Infineon, Laguna Seca, Shanghai, Fujian, Zeltweg, Spa and the World Finals. The programmes will continue in 2011
