it might sound a bit weird but i've noticed that the FXX has no mirrors,is there a reason to this, did they forget to put them on?

trust me, they didnt forget. plus its a track car, so i guess that the side mirrors arent (as) necessary (as the road car)?

indeed... the white "fin" on top of the roof is a rear-view camera. There is a flatscreen next to the insrument cluster on the dashboard, to view it.

i does have a rear camera. Besides when you have 800 hp you only need to worry about whats in front of you.

probably left it off as the rear small wings would block the view , even F1 cars have side mirrors

That also explain why the windshield wiper is placed at the middle of the windshield! ;);)

It's a race car, not road car, it is not even road legal, that's why it has no need for side rear view mirror

The car hasn't mirrors because there is a rear camera but if you want you can put them when you order the car

Rear view mirrors stalks shaped as airfoils are often used to eliminate drag vortex's. Note on the F1 car how they are different right to left. It's interesting to see how much of difference this can make in a wind tunnel. The central wiper at rest is more efficient areo wise as well.

It depends on WHOSE car. Last year, Rubens' mirrors were identical left to right. Michael's mirrors, however, were different (one higher, one lower) per his preference, as he wanted to be able to keep an eye on rear tire wear from one, and have an optimal view of rear traffic from the other.

I guess it could also depend on the track layout.

Anyway the FXXs don't seem to be racing anything else so I guess its not as vital. Plus if you have to look behind in that thing you aren't going fast enough! :D

I wonder how the start of the first FXX Challenge will be, when none of the cars has side mirrors. Pls take lots of pics, whoever will be attending this spectacle... and post them here!

I suppose some of the drivers (all except the last one on track) will need mirrors. Good luck to them!
