Oh yeah! Absolutely Gorgeous! I think I'll have to swing in there tomm. afternoon when I pick up my son in St.Charles and take a looksee!.... Personally. I like the Angular and Sharp edges moreso in Exotic Cars than rounded. It looks great! "Exotic!"
Is this your's or do you mean the first out of that dealer? I've seen two already in the northern burbs (one blue, one slate gray) along with one Murci roadster (slate gray and E-gear) cruising up and down Golf rd in Schaumburg of all places. Surprisingly, not a single one had any dealer plate brackets or stickers or for that matter, Illinois plates. RocketBoy
First deliveries started late last month, and there are customers in the area that have had theirs for a month or so. Those cars were flown from the factory, as opposed to coming by boat.
Actually - the first ones that were allowed to be sold were ~2 weeks ago - and the first ones sold were around that time. As of Today there are approximately 5 sold (from what we can track in the US) - the other dealers just or are just getting their dealer owned cars... I have had a few people tell me that 8 have been sold - which is entirely possible so I would say the range of actual sold Spyders are between 5 and 12 in the US. There aren't many that the dealers paid to fly over at the extra expense - My dealer had one flow over - but only one and it got there on Friday - and is being picked up this week from what I am being told. The first Boat shipment of approximately 40 are in route to the US and should be in Customs clearing in the next week and through customs a few days after that (1 week). Then off to the respective dealers and then owners. Estimate is around 20 days for the first shipment to be in owners hands.
I'm sure there are more than just 12 in the country....there are 3 or 4 in the IL and WI (1 near Lake Geneva, WI and two on the IL north shore) area alone and the yellow demo at Lambo Chicago.
The cost of shipping a car by Air.....Ouch!!!! But, hey, if you want to be the first one the block to have one..... And...if you can afford the car. I suppose that the Airfreight charges are menial...
Richard, EVERYTHING is for sale....at the right price! I would bet some of those demos that were down at Homestead have already been purchased by idividuals who absolutley had to have an early car.
If there are that many in our area. There must be many more out in Florida and L.A., I would think....
