  1. I had a GAHH top installed this past week. It is very tight. The top cannot close without a helping hand. The hydraulics were just redone 1 year ago and I am afraid the top is so tight it will break the hydraulics.

Seams appear to be splitting, the rear buttresses hardly sit flat, the rear portion does not sit flat. Should I wet it and let it sit in the sun? Does this install need some finessing? Does GAHH need to get involved as this top clearly does not fit? Some combination of all options? I was expecting a factory-level fit and finish -- were my expectations out of line?

Does GAHH recommend the water/sun treatment? I had lots of problems with my aftermarket top (not GAHH). It was grossly undersized (by perhaps an inch in all dimensions), but I waited over a year after I bought it before installing mine (It took me a while to build up the courage to DIY it). I didn't even get a response from the company. 3 or more years later, I'm still waiting for it to stretch (so I can put all the screws back in)>

    Don't delay contacting them.

I have a GAHH too and I had some of the issues you’re describing.

As for the tightness of it - put it in the sun for a day or two if possible. It will stretch out over time. Mine was a little hard to operate at first.

It looks like one of your seams is pulling. That is not right and you might have an issue there.

The rear tips over the capote look like mine. They aren’t 100% accurate but it’s pretty close that it’s not really noticeable. Yours may be worse, but you shouldn’t have any divots anywhere. It looks like you have some but it’s a little hard to tell.

Also worth mentioning: the hydraulics themselves won’t make a difference but if shims were removing or something, that will affect it. I had a shop remove them and not put them back before I started doing my own work.

There are some in the cabin behind the seats (changed when the whole cassette comes out) and in the engine bay below the capote bracket. You should see weird panel gap if they are missing.

Your front rubber corners are bent. Also, it could have been installed a lot flatter. Not saying it’s not correct, but it should be less wavy. Was the install done by someone that has done these tops before? There are a lot of things that are unique to these that could get overlooked. Did you replace the headliner as well, if not, at least the elastic straps should have been replaced.

Going back over these pics I see a number of things wrong. Definitely not the fault of GAHH. Sides were put in with too much slack, the front could have been too tight if they didn’t measure it before closing. All tops are super tight when new and should be left to stretch in the sun but you have a condition of too tight up front and too loose on the buttresses.

Thinking about it some more, your front corners are likely bent because the top is not opening correctly. Likely missing the opening of the buttresses and hitting the canvas on the side. Be careful putting it down.

I had a lot of trouble with the leather seats from GAHH for my 360. They just didn't fit, and my upholsterer was at the end of his rope. He basically remade them.

Could certainly be the case that the top was not exact, but there are a number of signs that the install didn’t go well either. Could be a combo of the two but I’ve yet to hear anything bad about their tops.
