Any tips available on how I should remove interior luggage deck and surround to gain access to the top of my 599 fuel tank? Annoying noise coming from one of the fuel pumps!!

    Thank you

    Access from inside the trunk.

Is there a service bulletin on this? I can't remember.

I left right as the 599 came out but we were doing pumps on all of them (under Warranty of course.)

Pretty sure its accessed from the inside luggage tray. Rear subwoofer speaker has to come out also. Just not sure how to start removing the interior trim.

Quite frankly the fuel pump itself is easy to remove from the tank. Saw a youtube video on that. Just don't want to take interior trim out of order.

In the trunk on the wall houses a sort of vapor filter and emissions stuff plus an electrical junction box. Tank left and right ends are just visible through there not accessible..

2NA, Do you have a diagram of the interior pieces from behind the seats? Maybe it would show the fasteners?

Pull the appropriate fuses first to avoid loud, unpleasant noises...

I have a 2008 599, 10.000 miles, runs perfectly and just have one question ...maybe this is normal ???

Not sure if we 've got the same problem, but I do have a Noisy fuel pump (I assume) during 20 s after start-up, then noise stop.
The noise come back for 4 seconds if I blip the throttel to 6500 rpm ????

No anoying noise when I switch the power on, only after start up, evrytime for exactly 20-21 seconds ???

    Any explanation ?

    Video: https://vid.me/9pNI

noise starts at 16s and stop at 36 s ?????
Then come back after hit the throttle at 47 s...for 3 or 4s

Hardest part for me was the compressing to re install the ring nut. Otherwise a quick easy job.

Assuming they are electrical fuel pumps, a spark in close proximity to an open tank of gasoline can cause an explosion.
I might even disconnect the battery and ground the car before messing with em.

Use the disconnect switch or disconnect the battery ground cable. No sense fiddling with fuses.

Does sound similar to the noise I have but mine is a little lower pitched and is constant from start of engine to turn off. I would remove rear panel inside trunk and see if noise resonates from the top of the fuel tank area. You have little room but if the sound is that loud inside the car it should be obvious when the back wall carpet and insulation is removed from the trunk. Additionally there are some other hoses and filters back there for the fuel system. Maybe it's possible the noise is coming from there. Something is activating when the engine is rev'ed high. Maybe fuel rail pressure drops under high rpm rev and then either the pump kicks in extra hard or you are getting blow by from the fuel vapor system??

Thanks for your input, the strange thing is that the noise is just present when the pump speed is higher and nothing at slower speed ????
