Question: I need to lift the car to get it in and out of my garage given the steep driveway. Can I keep the car "lifted" while it's parked (it could be as much as a week - two weeks between drives) so that I have to hit the lift button up and down only once (up when I come into the garage and down when I exit), or is better to lift / enter / lower / park / lift / exit / lower drive-away, so that the car is not lifted when parked. I am concerned about over usage of the lift-system. Thanks.
The suspension should rest in its natural state; not being supported by hydraulic pressure. Also why take the risk of exposing more of the shocks to the natural elements. If not for these reasons, the car simply looks better in your garage dropped. I have used the lift on my murci 50-60 times in a week and over use is never a consideration. I don't see how the pump or hoses are going to fail because of over use. Most likely it would fail due to lack of use. And if it ever does fail, I'd rather break it now while it is under warranty.
If you leave the system lifted permanantly, it will cause permanant damage to the shocks by way of too much stress being on their bladders and thus causing them to leak all your fluid out to the ground. This will cause $1500 in repairs per shock each time for the part iteself, then the associated labor with it. I cant remember if the system auto lowers itself down while PARKED, but it does auto lower itself down soon as you reach certain speeds. -Ben
a little off topic, but with the Diablo 6.0 ones failing alot, could the Murcielagos struts be used to replace the Diablo 6.0s?
