I have a 2010 Gallardo and I just started getting an EPC warning light. Had it twice so far. Turning off the engine resets it. This warning isn't described anywhere in the owners manual as far as I can tell. Any ideas what's up? Car/engine functions normally.

That's a check engine light. You can have the fault code read by any shop or even do it yourself with a $40 OBD2 scanner.

Check gas cap- make sure it is tight.

I just so happen to have VCDS (long time Audi owner) and it worked perfectly to pull out the OBD-II codes. It is reporting a P018C, which according to the Gallardo service manual I found says "Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor, signal voltage < 0.2 V." Does that sound like one of those transient gas cap type problems or something more serious?

has the car been sitting for a while? if so, may be it's caused by low voltage as a result of weak battery

The car doesn't get daily use, but the battery seems OK. Plenty of starting cranking power, for example. I suspect it is something else but will watch to see if the error occurs when the battery is definitely OK. Thanks for the idea.
