In considering a 2006 Gallardo, based on feedback here regarding improvements over time, I am concerned about future depreciation. In looking at used 2005 and 2004 G-cars, it appears that depreciation is running $25 to $30k per year. Does this seem right?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I think the 04 is as low as they are going to go.............they have taken the BIGGEST hit do to some rumored issues and a first year run car.......

The 05 with the lift will not go down as far.......

The 06 with the increase in gears, brakes, seats, HP and mufflers.....will take longer to fall then the others....also keep in mind production for teh 06MY is approx 2/3 of what the 04 and 05 were and of that a lot were SE and others are spyders..so in reality the 06COUPE will be about halfd the run of 05 and 04 MY.....

My two cents....best thing to do is check back and two years and see how I did..HA HA HA

With the 04s starting to come off warranty and the Spyder deliveries soon to make an impact, the early coupes will drop more and be THE best exotic car buy out there.

    Just an example,
I bought a brand new '04 Gallardo and drove 11 months and 6,000 plus miles, sold it and lost only $12,000. I think Roy is about right

MY04 prices have been holding steady. I don't think you're going to see more than a $7K - $10 drop on those cars / year going forward - maybe even less. If you can't stomach that, then G's aren't the car for you.

    hello michael,

i know you know a lot about lamborghini, but wouldn't any first year exotic, especially one that ends in the letter "i" be best avoided until the next model year to allow the manufacturer time to get the bugs out of a all new design?

    regards,

    joseph

That is really impressive I must say. I personally think the MY06 Coupe's will have some play on the depriciation effect on MY04 and MY05's. The added HP, different gears, etc will be the cause.

ANY car will depriciate... the more expensive the car, the more $$... but keep in mind- based on a percentage, its not going to be THAT much worse that any other car

    Hey Joseph,
You are right about the first year vehicles having a few more bugs than later years, but Lambo did a real good job of making sure the early 2004 US cars were pretty well sorted out. I would say that most auto manufacturers begin deliveries of their new cars in other countries first so that they can get the bugs out before US cars are even shipped here. US consumers have a reputation of being VERY unforgiving when a car isn't sorted out, and from the number complaints about cars (any make) on this website, I would say it's a well deserved reputation.
