So after posting in a previous thread on how my Lambos just "run and run and run" I must have tempted the car gods, because I have a lovely crunching sound now while shifting from 1 to 2 on my 2007 Gallardo Spyder with approx 50K miles on the clock.

Dealership says it's a bad synchro, and the options are:

1 - new tranny. Upside - zero miles on new tranny. Downside - $$$$
2 - wrecked tranny. Upside - Low miles on tranny with 6K miles on it. Located one on ebay. Downside - it's in Europe and if it's no good, well then I'm out $8K plus labor.
3 - rebuild/repair existing tranny at a shop here in Cali. Upside - Cheaper than new tranny, dealer recommends the place. Downside - not sure.

    Anyone have experience with this?
