    I have been shopping for a G and I have ben told that for the '04 MY there was a S1 and an S2 engine. The S1 (or early) '04s had some inherent problems that could cause a failure. Is there any truth to this? This info came from a former authorized dealer mechanic.

    If there is, I have never heard anything about, and I did a good amount of research before I bought my 04 two years ago.

    I knew of clutch issues with early cars but dont recall any engine issues being discussed.

    Thanks guys. I have never heard of any engine issues with any '04s that are owned by friends of mine. When I was speaking with this Lambo tech, he went on and on about how the early cars could have serious issues. Blah, blah, blah.

    I knew about the clutch updates, but he was way more crazy about the '04 engines.
