I currently have a 360 and have considered replacing it with a Gallardo. I have driven an E gear and a Standard, very impressed with both, however, I am not sure I want to venture from my 360. There has to be others that have sold thier 360 for the same idea, any regrets?

P.S. this question is for those of us who can only swing one of the two, if you can afford both and have both, no disrespect, but that's not the viewpoint I am looking for.

I've heard from people that they do not regret trading to a Gallardo.

No matter how much you like a car you always eventually are upgrading / changing. The real question is when you are ready to move on from the 360, will you go F430 or Gallardo. I would go Gallardo just for the sake of trying something different than an upgraded version of your current car.

I had absolutely no regrets - so much so I got my Gallardo and also ordered a G-Spyder... I have been really impressed with the G mechanically, customer Service from my dealer (Ferrari should take note), as well as the performance, etc.

I will continue to own Ferrari's without question - but it is nice to taste a different flavor once and a while.

I currently have both the 360 and the G. If I could only afford one, it would be the 360.

Mike, thats actually the answer I am looking for, nicely put. Did you ever put an exhaust on the G?

I am taking the G down to Las Vegas Lamborghini at the end of this month. They have two G's with exhausts - Tubi and their own exhaust. I will listen to both of them before I make the final decision. From what I have seen and listened to on the web, I will most likely go with their exhaust system. Most people have refered to the exhaust as the Silicon Valley exhaust. They say it's louder and meaner sounding than the Tubi.

If you can make it over the hill, you are welcome to give the G a spin. We can compare your 360 side-by-side with the G!

    Hey Colby,

I have just sold a bunch of toys, lastly, my '04 G. It was my first Lambo and I was thoroughly impressed. At the same time I had an '01 360 and an '86 Testarossa. When I got the G I was amazed at how it performed. I installed an Al Burtoni V12 Engineering exhaust and it was simply incredible, both performance wise and sound. Everyone that had ever heard the car would talk about it, including other friends with G's and my friends with F cars. I have always thought of myself as an F car guy, simply preferring the sexy curves and not loving the angular sharpness of L cars. However, all things considered, if I had to make the choice, I would take the G, hands down. I found it to be tighter, better handling, better sound, performance and build quality. Don;t get me wrong, the 360 is a sexy ride and I loved it. Also, I think the G is a much better value, more bang for the buck.
    I hope this helped.

    Jeff

Generous offer Mike. I appreciate it. I would love to hear it with whatever exhaust you go with, I could make the trip up the hill for that! Let me know when it's done.

Jeff, helpful information. I too consider myself an F-car guy, and I am having a hard time thinking of making the switch because of it. I do love the way the Gallardos I have driven feel, but I am going to wait until I get some sunshine here in NorCal so I can log a few more hours in the 360 before I consider selling it. Maybe listening to Mikes with the exhaust done will push me over the edge.

Thanks Lambo guys for your responses.

What has been said about the early models vs late? I know the newest version has 30 more hp, but other than that, what are the major differences?

I don't own either so I won'r be any help but as far as I'm concerned Lambos make my jaw hit the floor.

Driving in to work today in London on the A40, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a black G approaching fast. I wound down my window in excitement as it flew past at high volume - it made the effort of going to work worthwhile.

It's always nice to see an F-car but it's exciting to see an L-car!

On the 04/05 (if all updates are done) there is virtually no difference. The 06's are ~27 more HP.

The only differences between the 04 and 05 are: (This is US spec cars)
1.) Center Wheel Caps and Steering wheel badge are colored
2.) 05 (and some very late 04's) had the front end lift system which helps for clearance
3.) Early 04's up to about 600 SN did not have the option of the clear bonnet - Mid year and beyond had it as an option.
4.) 05's could get the darker colored wheels (instead of the brushed aluminum - you had an option for the gun metal color)
5.) The 05's had the option for the navigation - I think some of the late 04's did as well - but I do not have my stats in front so cannot confirm for sure on the late 04's.

So with all said - really not much difference between the 04/05 - and performance wise identical.

The difference between the 04/05 and 06. For MY 06 you could get the following that was not offered on the 04/05:
    1.) Branding Package
    2.) Backup Camera w/Nav
    3.) Optional Seat Leather package
4.) Optional Carbon Fiber Engine and interior Packages
5.) 27 More HP and shorter gear ratios now standard
6.) Choice between Travel Package and Smokers Package (Cupholder or Ashtray really).

Difference between 06 Coupe and Spyder/SE
    1.) Callisto Wheel Option
    2.) Sport Exhaust Standard

I probably forgot a few things off the top of my head - but I think I covered most major things...

Very informative Rich, thank you. So those of you that have the nose lift option, do you find yourself using it much? I have grown accustomed to low cars over the years and am not sure there is much need.

Then we need to setup a race with Mike & Mike -- Gallardo + ?? exhaust, Stradale + Tubi NGT! Either way, it'll be fun!

That would be a fun comparison, however, as much as I love the CS I would never buy one over a Gallardo. The CS is by far one of my favorite Ferraris of all time and if it were priced the same as Gallardos then I would rather have one. The other problem with the CS is I don't think it will be as friendly in the deperciation area as the Gallardo if you are actually going to put miles on it.
