My next car will be a Gallardo. My buddy has one and i absolutely love it. My biggest concern were the horror stories about repairs but i'm hearing that the Gallardo doesn't need it's first service until 7500 miles?

Is the G more reliable than, say, a 360?

I prefer the 6spd by the way so that should help in any potential trans/clutch problems.

    Thanks in advance!

If it is like the Murcielago, the dealer does the 1500 mile check as part of the warranty with the customer covering the cost of fluids. Lamborghini's (Murcielago and Gallardo)do not have the expensive 15k,30k etc. that Ferrari has.

I second that - and yes the service would be considerably less than the 360 - due to no engine out services needed.

I like what I hear !! My 360 left this past Monday and my G car arrives in a couple of hours.

The 360 does not need a engine out service, the belts are replaced by removing the seats.

that being said, I would take a gallardo over a 360 any day

But from what I understand, the labor comes out to be about the same. However, with that said. I think only a few Ferraris will meet the 15,000K service within 7 years time, at which time, most cars will be needing a major service as well. Keep in mind, it is not just the belts that needs to be check/replaced, the engine seals, water pump etc. If you only go by the milage for your service interval, you are just asking for major problems to happen.

That's it? Servicing the G-machine isn't much more than my wife's Mercedes...

Thank you all. 48 hours of ownership so far and I am very happy with my decision. I am watching my first GP on TV in 26 years without an F car in my garage. Strange feeling...
Does anyone make a regular bra for the G car, other than Speed Lingerie ?
No 3M tape for me either.

    Tino -

Congratulations! The car looks HOT-T...and very familiar! Wondering if it's from a certain place "down south." - ;)

    Vik,
Sure is ! Last new 04 6sp. Dealing with Jonathan Peck at Lambo Dallas was a good experience. The sale (and trade) were good for me and everything was done professionally down to the transport(s). I have no personal gain in promoting that dealership but I highly recommed them.

They absolutely are. I was eyeing that very same car and, well...you know the story. But the guys at LoD are first rate. Although this car didn't work out, I'm certain I'll give them some business in the near-term.

But I'm very glad this one found a good home - :)

Enjoy the car in good health.

I think i might be the only one who feels more comfortable that Audi is involved because I feel relieved that the car should be more reliable.

    More unique than a 360....

    Faster than a 360....

    AWD

Has a useful arm rest :p

I don't have a Gallardo (yet) but i couldn't pull from my buddies G in my Viper SRT10.

I'm just waiting alittle longer for the prices to drop and i'm sold!

I thought Lambos all use cam chains, not belts?
