just wondering what some of you guys would go with the newer 06 gallardo Spyder or like a 98-01 diablo Roadster style ? and any reasons in particular you may have. Personally I think the older roadsters look a bit more sleeker and sexier the gallardo roadster (from pictures at least ) look like a crunched up sports car (in the sense of a short wheelbase, i could be wrong im saying just looking at it ) almost matchbox like.

I, personally, would never buy a Diablo Roadster, that's just me. I'm not a fan of the profile of that car with the roof up. With regards to you're "matchbox" analogy of the GCar, I'd would SURLEY have to disagree there too :D.

I used to think the GCar was a tiny short wheelbase car too, until I saw 4 up close and personal! They are NOT small cars, by farrrrrrrrr they are not small.... The cars are vERY big for being known as the "baby Lambo." Check one out in person, whether Spyder or not, I am sure it will change your view from pictures. It's quite a large brute, to say the least.

the DIABLO ROADSTER is the closest to Marcello Gandini's original diablo design....in fact it's the only diablo that gets his blessings...

I love the Diablo roadster. I'm not sure which one I'd take though. But as mentioned, if it were a 6.0 coupe I'd take it over any other Lambo.

and? I prefer the 6.0 as well. If I want a supercar that looks like a pick-up truck, I'll get a Carrera GT! :)

since when have class and style ever been synonomous with Lamborghini?

but my pick would have to be a 6.0 coupe of any Lambo ever built.

However choice between a D roadster or a G roadster, i think it depends on your use. If its a daily driver probably the G, if its a weekender the D has heaps more cred.

BTW, Chuck Norris prefers the Diablo too. It's the only Lamborghini that fits all of his chest hair.

No it isnt an easy choice. A Diablo 6.0 will depreciate far less (if at all right now). It's also a completely different car and a different look. Past just the fact that it's a completely different model, there are a ton of other contributing factors that might weigh a decision.

You forget that your SE in Aust would probably buy a Diablo Roadster, G Spyder and a daily driver in the US. Also your daily use of the car procludes anything like a Diablo.

The 6.0 is less tortured style wise. I dont like how the ROadster looks without the top and i dont like how it looks with the top either. Bad job.

Having only driven a Gallardo for an hour but living with the 01 Diablo for over 18 months here it goes.
Marginally a little more room in the Diablo.
    Swing up doors.
    Both AWD
    Diablo seems heavier
    Gallardo seems more tossable
    V-10 vs V-12= awsome acceleration.
Diablo drew more attention on the road.
    Older car vs. new technology.
    Both have great fun factor.
Bottom line you can't go wrong with either.
