Just wondering what's the standard Lamborghini and more specifically, the factory warranty for the Gallardo? Does Lamborghini also have the maintanence-free program as Audi (4yrs/50,000miles)? Considering that the new S8 and the S6 will both be sharing the very same V10 engines that are in the Gallardos, do they all enjoy the same type of factory support as well. TIA.

Lambos have a 2-year, 24,000 miles warranty. The Gallarados that were the first few delivered are now going out of warranty. It will be interesting to see how much lower the prices will go. No maintenance program is included.

If a consumer cannot afford a brand new car with a full warranty, they will purchase a used model with a limited amount of warranty left or no warranty at all. This is the way it is with EVERY car. So why does everyone make a big deal, regarding the cost of the car (used), in relation to the amount (or lack thereof) of any warranty? This is not rocket science. The older a car gets, the lower the price goes. I would not expect a warranty to last forever. If you get some of the warranty on a used vehicle, it is because it is a newer car and therefore it will command a higher price(BECAUSE it is newer, not that it has some remaining warranty).

From reading other posts the engine of the 'g' is not an issue... In fact I have read many times the phrase 'bulletproof'... Reading Avalon Superstars write-up it appears that little dinky things in the interior and latches and whatnot have been an issue...

Smooth, please chill and calm down. I only asked the questions because all three cars shares the same power plant and am just wondering if the warranties/factory support are also the same. It is not an attack on Lamborghini or the Gallardo.

IMO, the uppermarket cars (Lamborghini >> Audi) of a company (VW/Audi) should have at least equal if not better factory support or warranties, especially if they are sharing the same hardwares. Just because one can afford the finer things in life doesn't mean they are clueless when it comes to value. I know I would not be happy knowing that I have to pay for annual fluid change service when a S6 or S8 owner are not charged a single cent for the very same service. Not to mention if an engine problem were to occur. Is this so unreasonable?

I was referencing Michael FVM with my comments, because he had asked "...how much lower the prices would go..." now that there are vehicles coming on the market, whose warranty has expired. I was not directing anything towards your post, sorry.
You are 100% right regarding the "equal support" issue.
Also, I have heard rumors that the factory was toying with the idea of offering an extended warranty for both new cars, and used.

Smooth, I have sold Lambos for the last four years and it does make a significant difference in price whether or not a car is still under warranty. Hypothetical example: Say a Gallardo was manufactured in 9/04 and sold in 12/04 and now has 4000 miles. A second Gallardo was built in 07/04 and sold in 3/05 but has 6000 miles. Now both cars are for sale today, and even though the first car has fewer miles, and was built later, I would bet my life (all other varibles being the same) the second Gallardo would cost a significant amount more than the first, because the new prospective owner really does not know for sure the issues with either car. Why risk buying the car that is not under warrranty? These repairs, especially with today's complicated electronics, can be very costly. This isn't just my opinion; the market shows it as fact.

All I'm suggesting is that there comes a point in time when a car's warranty is OVER; it seems as though I see a lot of posts (here and elsewhere) making such an issue of the used car price vs. it's (remaining) warranty. Once all the MY04's are past the point of no return, as far as the factory warranty goes, what will all the naysayers (not you, per se) have to discuss as the reasons that a Gallardo should sell for "bottom feeder" prices (i.e. eight months from now, will they be saying ALL MY05 cars will now not hold their prices? I suppose "they" will then pick on the car for some other estoteric reasons. :)

You are absolutely right about that. "They" just don't seem to like Lambos very much. That is fine with me because it keeps the Lambos at a good value, while I think a lot of the used late model Ferrari prices are ridiculous. I personally would be willing to take my chances on an out of warranty Gallardo; you would save yourself about $15k, which could actually go a long ways towards repairs. Besides, Lambo quality and reliability have been tremendously improved since Audi came into the picture.

That may be with Avalon Superstar Gallardo, but mine was perfect and nothing in the interior was a let down nor anything broke or fell off. Also other guys I know with Gallardos have no complaints about their interiors.

Interesting discussion. I've just traded my 2/04 Gallardo on a new SE (delivery next week) - due in large part to an expectation that the value of the 04 was about to drop as it came out of warranty. At least, that helped rationalise an emotional decision... :)
