i have a commercial type setup, i have two garage doors and the openers operate using a button to open and a different button to close, from the transmitter to the receiver. Telectron was the company that made them. Now they are out of business. I do not want to replace the motors etc...just the transmitters and receivers. They have to be programmable, and must have two buttons each per transmitter, one to open and one to close. Anyone using such a system, and can you please give me advice?

Call up your local Overhead Garage Door company. You may be able to change the reciever and use one of those clickers that only has one button. If you can, then they'll have one and you can program it. It's a pretty cheap fix, as far a garage door openers go.

Sears has (had) a setup that would probably work for you. They have remotes with multiple buttons and they have receivers that replace the push button on the wall. You might even check Home Depot for a simmilar setup.
