Forgive me for posting this question on F Chat but since this car was styled after FCars of the period I'm hoping someone can give me some information. Searching the web provided little except for Wikipedia.

While rolling across the back roads of Virginia I go came across what I thought was a neglected Mondial but after taking a closer look it turned out to be a Bitter SC. After a quick examination it seems to be mostly intact except for the front grill. The drive train appears to be present. It is a maroon color with light tan interior. I'm trying to contact the owner and will take pictures if given permission. There is an old for sale sign in the front window.

To be clear it needs a full restoration but appears solid except for some surface rust in a couple of areas. No idea the last time it ran.

So given this brief description is there a market for this car in its current condition and what kind of value does it hold ?

    Thanks,

    Brewman

A google search of "Bitter SC" produced plenty of hits, for me.

It's a reskin of an Opel Senator with styling like the Ferrari 400 series.

But instead of a V12, it has an inline 6 at 210HP when new.

A well maintained SC in Colorado on ebay in 2014 topped out at $7500.

One was cited in Jalopnik in 2009 at $8995.

It's basically an Opel with a body kit.

So it's worth less than a restoration of the seats would cost then.... wow

That seems to be the case. Sad to see such a rare vehicle in this state. I found a link to the International Bitter Club and will post a note there if and when the owners returns my phone call and gives me a price. Maybe someone will rescue it.

That is a very good looking car, looks like an alternative universe 400i. If it is all there except the grill and you were able to purchase for next to nothing you could give it a good cleaning up and just fix what isn't working and drive it like that maybe. I did that with a 1973 Eldorado convertible for 3 years before doing a more intensive restoration.
