I've been entertaining the thoughts of finishing my garage floor off. I have searched the archives and found many wonderful pictures of great looking garages.
My question is, if you use a traditional tile (porcelin / ceramic / slate) is there a special grout required, or do you use standard floor grout.

    Thanks
    in advance as always.

Not sure about what type to use. I can say stick with a black or similiar dark color as it will get dirty quick and is a pain to clean.

I was thinking about using brick pavers and a dark brown grout. I would probably then seal everything with some kind of clearcoat.

That sounds like a good idea.

Ive got BBC TV grey studio floor paint on the floor and fresh white walls and anything i put in the garage jumps out at you!
I always think that if your garage is too fancy it detracts from the car, the very thing you want to look at!

I totally agree; it's a little like with those picture framings; the better the photograph or painting, the more a frame has to be unobtrusive. I have the same; o.k. grey floor and white walls but a yellow painted base approx. 30 cm high. The latter just to mask some minor building flaws.

    Best Regards

    Martin

Do you think the pavers will make it to busy? The walls are currently white, but I was going to use an eggshell (off white) for them.

I tried all combinations, but went with pure white walls and an anonymous grey shiny floor.......i even had a load of memorabilia for the walls but opted for a minimilist look and it doesnt half make the car look fantastic. The white really shows off the red car and as the garage isnt cluttered the first and only thing you look at is the car, not the lovely chequered floor, or the Ferrari signs, or the photos cos i opted against them.
If its the car you want to show off keep it simlpe and fresh!
