Those of you who park your daily driver in the same garage as your favorite car(s), and drag snow/ice/slush in with it everyday... what do you do about the humidity?
My garage (it was put up this spring) is now always wet. there is a slight slope towards the door, but does not seem to do the trick. A dehumidifier seems to be the answer, but I was reading the specs on one at sears.com, and it comments that the efficiency of the dehumidification is diminished under 65 degrees. Well, ****, its 30F here in sunny Chicago.
    What to do????

I would suggest getting a nice built in dehumidifier & avoiding those portable ones as you can get at SEARS

To reduce the growth of mold, I would recommend a Living Air Classic, or the Ionic Breeze (Sharper Image). These units produce low levels of ozone (O3 - Oh-Three) which greatly eliminates mold and odors.

FYI, way back in the 50's/60's, one could buy ozone cleaners for cars interiors and 'chesterfields' (couches) - the ozone sterilizes the cloth fabrics of that era from cigarette smoke and other odors. They were removed from the market because of the people sufficating in their cars when the unit were running - ozone is heavier than air and will displace air in a confined space, a la the interior of a car.
