I read all the Lift forum posts I could find. Most of them were 4 to 6 years old, and only a few mentioned companies that could do the install.

Here in Seattle I have only found GarageLiving out of Woodinville that said they could install a lift for about $8K but wouldn't even come to look at my garage until I had a high lift conversion for my garage door, which they don't do. I have two standard 8-foot-wide doors. A 458 fits just fine if I fold the mirrors in. My garage floor is sloped, ceiling height 10' 2" at the door and 9' 11" where the hood of the car would be.

Any lift installer recommendations for the Seattle Area? Or garage door companies that do high lift conversions?

Hi -- I had the exact same situation, and am also in the PNW. Referenced the installers I used in this video, hope it's helpful and let me know if you have any questions:

Thank you! Excellent video. Exactly the issues I faced: poor manufacturer documentation, and high lift conversion needed.

I had Garage Tech of Bothell come out for an estimate of a high lift conversion. The estimator was doubtful from the start. He said he likes to see 3 feet above the door spring, and I have 16". He couldn't guarantee door lift height so we agreed to part ways.

The garage in the video looks similar to mine. I'll re-measure and give Absolute Garage a call.

Tell him Keith referred you. Then he'll know exactly what you want to do.
Most of the garage door folks I reached out to were clearly inexperienced with this or just making stuff up (e.g. "I can raise this door by 2 feet" when there wasn't even 2 feet of space between the old door and the ceiling). The first co came out and actually forgot to order the parts on the day of the job. I'd say Absolute Garage is one of the few who actually stand behind what they say.

If you are buying a new lift I would ask the Manufacturer/Seller for Installers in your area.

    $8,000 includes the lift right?

What lift are you looking at? Just ordered an Advantage DX-9000HD which will arrive in 8 weeks from China.

yes, the Garage Living $8K verbal estimate included the lift but not the high lift door conversion. Haven’t chosen a brand yet.
