I just need a quick survey of local garages that you guys would recommend. It be helpful because it's about dumping time on my current...guess I should remain civil. Anyway, let me know who you guys have found to be on the upside, otherwise I'll be going to LFSC. I really don't think that's all that bad though with the peice of mind and all. It's just a bit of dough is all.

I go to LFSC ( I live 20 minutes from there)
Joe, the mechanic who works on the old stuff is considering retirement due to family issues, but reassured me he has passed his VAST knowledge to his son, who also works @ LFSC.
But in a couple of years when I need a major.... it may be time to shop another shop!
I gotta keep my ties there, as I plan on hitting Mecca (the factory) sometime in the next 1-2 years.

Hey Mike let me know if you are considering doing the "GOOD GUY Tour" of hitting various factories and design studios of that region of Italy. I checked into that tour a few times and it seems pretty cool.

I am planning on touring northern Italy sometime in the near future. I have plenty of airline miles, to do the flights for free w/ups to business or first class. My plan is to hit Nice, rent a car do Monaco and then head for Italy. I plan to spend 3 to 4 weeks in total, just wandering around getting lost, for the most part.

Of course the factories are about the only definites on the itinerary. :D

And now back to our show, which is already in progress....

Mike, you can do the factory tour without help from an official dealer. All you need is contact FNA. They will ask you for a faxed copy of your Ferrari title.

Having said that, LFSC is of course a good place to take your car for service.

Rick, any tour anybody offers normally includes all/many factories in Northern Italy EXCEPT Ferrari. If they include Ferrari, they normally just take you there, but you have to provide your own access. You can't go there unless you are an owner or in company of an owner.

Bill, whenever you plan that trip, let me know. I'll be happy to give you some pointers, whether you need them or not. :)

Ed currently has a Countach, 308 and 360 F1 Spyder in the shop, in addition to other various cars.

Also, there's a badass set of tyres at the shop, that will be going on a fellow F-Chatter's car soon!

Since when did you start getting up for Kippers and poached eggs, bangers and mash, bubble and squeak? I can hear your Earl Grey wetted tones wafting through your formal garden now.... LOL :D

I think you'll find the service at LFSC to be terrific. However, if your Ferrari is due for a major service or you are going to have a lot of work done you may want to consider Motion Products up in Neenah, WI. The quality of their work is incredible (they've produced 4 100 point Ferraris at Pebble Beach), they are very honest, and their labor rate is very reasonable at $65/hr. Another bonus is that going to their shop for service will allow you to see some of the most special coachbuilt and vintage race Ferraris in the world in their 20,000+ sq ft. shop. www.motionproductsinc.net

Ahhh, 'Purveyors of the New Groove'!

But, I liken myself more to the ilk of Albert Grey; my pedigree demands it!! :D

Billiam, surely you've forgotten that I came to this land from our northern neighbour, and have spent much time in GB.

Thus, my spelling is usually in the form of the King's English, which I find most proper! :)

Hey it sounds like we could probably create our own tour of design studios and factories with people from the Midwest. We should consider it. But hey I can't get enough interest in getting a group from the Midwest for Pebble Beach weekend.
