Is that Lake Austin, or Lake Travis? I will be visiting a friend in Austin this weekend and he always likes driving around to check out homes when I come up to visit. I'd like to see this (from a distant obviously) in person.
Indeed, I detail his cars for him during the summer. I'm 18 and I've been doing it for the past 4 summers and yes, it is a dream job! Sorry for the bad quality on the first 2, they're from an old camera phone. The last picture is the car on track at the Laguna Seca historics from 2007 IIRC. I've tried to view it from the street but it's in a gated community. It's located on Lake Travis near Pace Bend Park.
Thanks Mike. My friend knows the hills sort of well and can usually find spots to view homes were looking to get a better view of. It's a beautiful home and I'd like to see it in person.
Yeah here's a few. Unfortunately, I'm 3,000 miles away from garage so I'm unable to get more pics. First 2 are the McLaren F1 in his showroom, you can also see his 275 GTB/4 and a Maserati 200SI Second 2 are more garage shots The cars are driven regularly so the arrangement is constantly changing. Also he sells and buys fairly frequently as well, so it's always a treat to go there after a few months and see what new toys are hidden behind the garage door...enjoy! The detached garage is 7,250 sq ft, the attached garage is 563 sq ft and the house is 9,490 sq ft. $5.8MM
Agreed. I first started working for him when I was 15 and had absolutely no appreciation for the historic cars. Now, I can't get enough of them. Sometimes when I'm in the garage I just stare at the GTO, amazed that I'm even allowed to touch it, much less detail it! Also I managed to find a few more pics on my computer, here ya go! I wish I could say the same about my wife......(just kidding honey, HONEY, put down that knife, it was only a joke ...really) My wife is actually a beautiful lady, but who could pass a set up like that.... Brock
The Red 275 is gone, though he also has a 250 Cal Spyder that is absolutely GORGEOUS. One of my favorite in the collection, unfortunately i have no pics
I stumbled across this link to a great garage. If links to other sites are a no-no, sorry and please remove. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=234507
Lee Klatchner has wrote a great book that is due out any day now called Motorcycle Dream Garages (http://www.motorcycledreamgarage.com/). I'm priviledged to have one of my clients, a board member for Harley-Davidson, appear in the book. There is some great photography of some really amazing garages which you can see on Lee's website. Here is an email I received from Lee today about a garage in Atlanta that includes a link to a video showing a sneak preview of the garage (I like the bar and the pool table): "As Motorcycle Dream Garages gets out and about, one of the most interesting things has been what's come back across the transom. One of my favorite things has been this cool video of a garage in Atlanta. Joshua Rosenbaum sent it along, and he and his crew converted the 1958 garage using some of the original owner's vintage equipment along with reclaimed salvage (including a bar built out of church pews). The place houses everything from Ducs and a 100K BMW to vintage Japanese stuff." http://vimeo.com/4089050 Image Unavailable, Please Login
