Hey guys, thought you might be interested in this event we are having on October 26th at GPNY. It's a FREE enduro race for charity. We will be teaming up Pro drivers with viewers of the show for an enduro race that will also be filmed as a production for the show. Here is all the key information, I invite you all to apply for one of the 12 spots!

    What?
The Garage419 Invitational: A one-hour endurance karting event held at Grand Prix New York, the country's newest and most advanced indoor karting facility. (GPNY: http://www.gpny.com)

    When?
    Sunday, October 26th, 2008.
Event starts at 10:00am -- Qualifying at 12:00pm.
    Race start at 12:30pm.

    Who?
Twelve teams of two drivers each, one Garage 419 viewer matched with one "pro". Viewers will be selected from a pool of applicants based on their creative six-word description as to why they should attend the Invitational. If you get picked, you've got to get to the track on your own. Sorry, no limos or private jets. (Maybe next year) The twelve pros will be selected from professional racing teams, performance driving schools, automotive journalists, and other "hot shoes" from around the country.

    Where?
    Grand Prix New York
    333 North Bedford Road
    Mount Kisco, NY 10549

    Why?
To challenge some of the best drivers in the country against viewers of Garage419, all in the name of charity. 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit Racing 4 Research and the Children's Tumor Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to fund the Drug Discovery Initiative, which will increase the number of candidate drugs being tested to cure Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that is more common than cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and Huntington's disease combined.

Entrants will race for free, but are encouraged to have friends and family pledge donations on a per-lap basis for their team. Teams can expect to complete between 50 and 70 laps during the race. Donations for the Racing4Research foundation will also be accepted throughout the entire event.

You can apply for this event or make a donation by going to:

www.garage419.com and clicking on the "invitational" banner at the top of the page.

Donations may be flat pledges, or pledges per lap of a team during the enduro.

    I observed a few things

1- Matt may be in the wrong line of work and should put in for Carolines and or Comedy Central.(Complimenting your humor )
2- Andretti's John player Special Where did they dig up that car from ? It was nice to see though .
3- unrelated to the most recent advertising ,Some of the vehicles look like they came out of the old movie with Stallone and David Carradine Death Race 2000 .
4- Some of the more prehistoric open wheel Vehicles.I too probably would not get into one , Its basically a motor frame and wheels .
Thats when men were men .

the john player car is owned by Duncan Highcroft and kept at the Highcroft Racing facility in Danbury. You can see it clearly in their showroom if you want to check it out at 45A Miry Brook Road, Danbury.

Those really old race cars are SKETCHY at best, and I would never get into one.

And I'm glad you think I'm funny, but I like my current job just fine :)
