I take that as a compliment, thanks A 365/512 BB/BBi would be very interesting to add in my gallery for sure, but right now I'm too booked up with drawings to finish, I'm affraid! Anyway, let's talk it over sometime soon! Best Carsten
Thanks a lot, Hank earned every minute of this process by sending me one of his beautiful Gold creations for Tina to wear arround her neck! @Hank, I will never forget that awesome gesture from you Hank, Tina is still very happy and proud to wear that necklace and it follows her everywhere she goes, every day of the year! I will always owe you for that my friend!
you must have the patience of a saint,Carsten! i'm pulling up a chair, coffee in hand,to watch your progress, looking great allready..
Thanks Rob, I have lots of patience yes,(When I'm working on my drawings at least) but for sure I'm no saint, trust me! Next update should be up tomorrow, so perhaps you'll need to make another cup of nice warm coffee! Best Carsten
After another day and lots of hours of drawing, "Hot Doc" starts to look even more alive and kicking! I really enjoy every single minute of this work, even if there will be days and hours of work left to do yet, before the drawing is finally ready for delivery! that didn't take to long...coffee still warm...gulp i like the cheekey look of the horse! thanks for posting these progress shots very interesting!
That looks excellent. I like how you added/left-in the horse gear off to the right; it adds to the picture somehow. Also noted you rolled the windows back down...niiice.
Carsten, These days, every morning feels like Christmas morning - with me being a six year old kid again, running down the stairs wide eyed to see what's under the tree (on the computer screen)!!! What a way to start my day!!!!! Thank you so much for this very special joy. Hank
Carsten, You have been truly blessed with an awesome talent. I love your work! I am envious. I was never blessed with the artistic gene. Instead I got the analytical mind. I am the one who still uses the big fat pencils or a single color crayon, and ponder just really how the light reflects off of the wax or lead residue and into our eyes and is interpreted by our brains. I think I just ate too many crayons as a child instead of using them. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Thank you very much Dave, We're all blessed in some way I believe, and thank God we're all alike, and we're all different........That alone makes the World interesting and a wonderful place to be! As allways , this is a real enchanting experience, to see the drawing unfold, first hand!! To see Hot Doc. and Rachel get allmost 3D.... Like they're raising from the paper Hank, I wish you could see it for real !! Photos doesn't really give justice to the thin little lines and details. A lot get's lost in a photo. But then you have something to look forward to Seeing it for real is totally different from seeing it online Carsten, GREAT job on this one!
Thanks a lot, You have a good eye for details! I love details, and I think my drawings would be nothing without them.......a picture for me is made up of details.....just like a Bugatti or a Ferrari is made up of details! A good picture will keep you staring at it again and again, and you should be able to find "new" little things in it continously! Best Carsten
This fact can't be overstated...! As astounding as the pictures look when posted here, they are just silly, low-bit computer graphics when compared to how flawlessly amazing and ridiculously perfect the original looks. Hank, I won't be surprised if you cry when you finally see the original. My eyes welled up when I got mine. I would say Carsten is a modern-day Da Vinci - but I don't want to give Da Vinci that much credit...!
@Carbon, THANKS my friend! Ohhhh man Carbon, now my eyes almost starts to well up!! A statement like that makes me feel so humble and at the same time very proud and happy.......I'm really flattered and yet I feel completely speechless! Words cannot tell how much I appreciate a comment like that! I love you man ! Sincerely Carsten
Hi Carbon, Oh, my friend - I know only so well, knowing myself as I do, that when that happy day arrives and the delivery man hands me that mailing tube - (remember that one?) - - I'll probably be a basket case!!!!! When I open the tube - - Carbon - - do I need to have a friend in attendance who knows CPR??? As for that "Angel of Images" - Carsten, we have all been, in the past, present and will be in the future, hypnotized by his artistry. Some day, up to and including when cars fly and people live to be 200 years old, the artist Carsten Christiansen will be talked about in art history classrooms across the globe. Carsten's magic will adorn every page of whatever that "required textbook" will be titled. I'm so proud and happy to know that "Rachel & Hot Doc" will be on one of the pages of that book. I feel love------------
@Hank and Carbon THANK YOU GUYS! You're both very special, wonderful and dear people to me, you both know that!........ But you're way too kind, really! I am so stunned after reading your last posts, and I really don't know how to react or respond to such kind and wonderful comments!?!? My keyboard has been useless for the last hour or so now..... being flooded in my tears of joy and pride! Who am I to deserve wonderful friends like you, or unbelieveable credits like these??? I just want to pay back for some of the very special things you guys did for me and my loved ones, and it can't be stressed enough how happy, proud and honoured I feel to have my humble works hanging in your homes......thousands and thousands of miles from here! I cannot think of anybody else who deserves it more than you guys, to recieve the best of my achievements! It's just my humble way of paying back or saying a heartfelt "Thank you" for some of the wonderful things you guys did for me! You cannot possibly imagine how much it really means to me that my works end up in places where I know they will be enjoyed, appreciated and taken good care of, for as long as they may last! I feel so lucky and proud to have friends like you guys! With love and respect always Yours Carsten
I have now started the slow process cathing all the different nuances due to reflections in the paint of Rachel! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
......so here we go: Perhaps it doesn't look like much since the last update, but I have also been working simultaneously (like a mad) on the drawing of Jim G.'s P4/5 (Slightly visible in my new avatar picture ), since it had to be ready for Friday when Tina and I are going to Paris to meet up with Jim and to hand over the drawing to him! Next update should bring much more "news" to this drawing! Oh and by the way Hank; even now, in it's rough unfinished state, Tina's mother has already declared this drawing a new all time greatest amongst my Ferrari works........and need I tell you that she is a real "Feinschmecker" when it comes to things like this?!?! (I think she's in love with Hot Doc.) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Carsten; you overdo yourself every time! It's just amazing what you can do with a pencil! ... You are a true artist!!! .... FANTASTIC! Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you so much Waldo, old friend Nice to see you here again! And BTW: it's an ink pen....not a pencil, but I'm sure you just forgot for a moment!
