Does anyone on this site know Gary Drenik? Is he a Dealer or Broker? I'm asking because I noticed on www.FerrariBuy.com he is advertising a Daytona Spyder in Italy that is my car sitting in my garage. The picture he is using is one I posted on FerrariChat under a Daytona Spyder thread. I'm clearly not used to this level scum. Thanks, Steve
Have you emailed him for info and more pics? This guy has every type of Ferrari listed. I checked through his listings for any of my cars, but thankfully he hasn't considered offering anything I own for sale yet
I wouldn't get too upset, yet. However, by bringing this matter in front of this community, you put a large number of Ferrari people on alert. Perhaps it's just some sort of a mistake (like using a stock picture and a typo on the S/N), but there are MANY frauds, confidence men and less-than-upstanding agents in the high-end auto markets. Thanks for the warning. Regarding specific actions, you can always request information, as suggested. Once you have the information, you can take a more formal approach such as a "cease and desist" letter, which would likely get Mr. Drenik to pull the listing. Frankly, I'd be very curious as to his explanation, but then again, we've seen this type of behaviour previously, so it doesn't come as a big surprise. However, as there is no economic harm or damage to you, you have no specific case against Mr. Drenik at this time. Any potential buyer might, but they should also be doing their own due diligence on any purchase. Caveat Emptor? If they buy a car that Mr. Drenik has no right to sell (or posession of), well, then, that's their mistake. The price of peace is eternal vigilance! Again, though, assuming that you're on the level, it means that Mr. Drenik isn't. That's good warning to the Ferrari community. Moreover, if you wished to post his explanation and or correspondence regarding this matter, I'm sure all here will benefit. CW
Go do a Google search on the name......... I cannot even count the thousands of reasons I would stay far FAR away from anything connected to that name.... See for yourselves.
I checked with a few guys that have been around a bit that do know Gary. One was surprised that someone hadn't already bumped him off or that he wasn't in jail somwhere. I did email him, can't wait to see what line of bull**** he spews out. Hey, who knows, maybe he'll sell me my car back for $1M. Steve
Good luck with sorting him out, Steve. Must feel bad to see your very own car being 'advertised' for sale.
People in glass houses....The psycho should know, maybe he did some time with the guy. Was Craig Kenny one of the guys you asked? Figures!
I don't know the guy, never met him, never communicated with him... But from what I've seen and heard, the guy is a long-standing crook... I wouldn't trust taking a free sample from him...
You should still do a search and see all the shell companies associated with that name, it's kinda scary, most are not car-related, and he sure pastes a good story all over the web...
Good to hear he pulled the advertisement Steve, that must have been abit dishearting to see that on the web. Congrats getting everything worked out properly.
It's not the first time I heard this story about F......buy.com Several complaints from owners (even F-chatters) discovering their own cars pictured in the "for sale" section. 90% of this site is BS. The other 10% are copy&paste ads from dealers websites. There were several ads from an "Italian" broker selling cars like 500 mondial, 250TDF, 500SA, etc... All BS. When contacted, the guys were expecting you to send some money to get more informations. Of course they had nothing for sale.
Here's some information on him.. Gary Drenik Via Mercatelli10/A, int.11 31010 Ponte della Priula Treviso, ITALY Cellular Tel. +39-339-6126177 Fax +39-0438-425577
It's a shame I didn't google this guy 2 months ago. I have sent him £300 for a heater for my 330 2+2. I saw his ad on Ferraribuy for a car he was apparently breaking. He has emailed me some photo's of a heater but I am beggining to think the odds of the real thing arriving are getting slimmer by the hour. I think I should be grateful that a larger sum of money was not involved. Does anyone know if it is possible to block this guy from advertising on some of these web pages?

Gary called me trying to buy this part recently, told him I had it but did not have time to go look and get it, but I did have it. I knew his reputation and decided not to engage. Easier, wondered how/when/if I would get paid. I was suprized he told me that he had already taken someone's money on the part. Not the way I do business. He was scambling looking for the part.
He divulged that he had received payment from someone without having the part or at least a source ...yikes!
If someone needs infos about him or has problem with him, than let it me know. I had not good infos about him but not over web. Thanks.
Hi Steve, I'm from Italy and sorry my english, do you know this thread can only be the cause of many problems for his business???? have you contacted him before? do you think sometimes before .......problems? I know Gary very well, I'm working near him from many years, and he's doing this job from most than 25 years, it's one of the first brokers of Ferrari, he can find anything of Ferrari's (Lamborghini etc...), always honest with all his businnes, using contracts, all legal and clear, why he need a stupid photo of your car for doing his advertise of a Daytona??? he need to ruin his reputation??? can ...he receive that photo from other contacts? Please, can you first show to all the page thread of the photo you was posted. Than to MR.Whisky, can you show me your google search to find all bad words of Gary? And it's better some guys learn to post immediately the problems, with proofs, and try contact who know him and not only bla bla bla.... Thanks, & Good Job
